My child walks on their toes… should I be worried?”

It’s common to see some children walk on their toes—especially when they are just learning to stand or walk.

But when it becomes consistent, it’s something you should pay attention to.

Toe walking can happen for different reasons:

• Tight muscles
• Sensory preferences
• Or underlying neurological conditions

This is why it’s important not to ignore it.

Pay closer attention if:
This is why it’s important not to ignore it.

Pay closer attention if:

• Your child cannot bring their heels down
• One leg is more affected than the other
• It’s becoming more frequent
• Or there are delays in other milestones

Early intervention can make a big difference in the outcome .

This sponge squeezing activity is a powerful way to stimulate your child’s hand and brain, without spending a fortune.

Compared to its size, the hand actually takes up a large area of brain structure and function.

So every squeeze, press, and movement is sending important signals that support learning and function.

With consistent practice, the brain can adapt and improve—this is the beauty of neuroplasticity

So if you’ve been worried about what more you can do at home…

Add this to your home exercises.

✔️ Get a soft sponge
✔️ Add water for extra sensory input
✔️ Let your child squeeze, press, and explore

👉 Save this so you can try it later

Let me know if you’d like more simple home exercises like this.

Many people confused stroke and cerebral palsy.

They are different conditions.

Both affect the brain and movement — but they happen very differently and recovery looks different too.

Hope this helps to break it down simply 👆

If you are a parent thinking,
“Maybe I should just stop… maybe therapy is not working…”

Let me speak to you as a Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapist.

Cerebral palsy is permanent.
Yes.

But it is not progressive.
Your child’s brain is not deteriorating.

And with the right stimulation, repetition, and guided therapy — the brain can adapt.

In clinical practice, this is what we consistently see:

Progress in CP is often slow.
It is rarely dramatic at first.
And it requires consistency beyond motivation.

Some months you will see noticeable changes.
Other months you may only notice small differences like:
• Slightly better sitting balance
• Less stiffness during dressing
• One more assisted step

Those small gains are not random.
They are neurological adaptations.

Before you quit, ask:
Is the program structured?
Is the home routine consistent?
Are we working toward clearly defined goals?

Sometimes the issue is not that therapy isn’t working.
Sometimes it needs better direction, fine-tuning, and alignment with your child’s specific needs at that stage.

Don’t stop because you’re exhausted.
Let’s review. Let’s adjust. Let’s refine.

That is what clinical guidance is for.

You are not alone in this journey.

CP parents — on a scale of 1–10, how are you really doing today?

New week. Same commitment to progress.

Two months after knee replacement surgery, and we’re focusing on what truly matters, rebuilding strength, retraining movement, and restoring confidence.

Recovery doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in steady sessions, small improvements, and consistent effort.

If you’re on your own rehab journey, keep going. The small wins count more than you think.

Happy new week!❤️✨

Every lifted head.
Every assisted step.
Every small improvement.
Every pain reduction.

Is not small — it all adds up in your recovery journey.

A new month isn’t just a change in the calendar.

It is the hope of a new beginning, new opportunities, a clean slate, renewed effort, and new possibilities.
To all our amazing patients and families who have trusted us to walk with them on their recovery journey —

We celebrate every little victory with you.

Welcome to March 💜
