How long does a C-section take to heal inside? 🤷

Your skin may look healed on the outside, but remember, there is still a lot happening underneath.

Weeks 1–2: Your uterus and abdominal tissues are actively repairing. The uterus is also shrinking back to its normal size.

Weeks 3–6: Deeper tissues continue to heal and scar tissue begins forming. You may feel better, but your body is still recovering from major surgery.

Weeks 6–8: This is a major healing milestone for many women, but internal healing is not necessarily 100% complete.

Around 3 months: The deeper tissues continue strengthening and remodeling.

3–6+ months: Your scar, nerves and deeper tissues can continue changing. Some women still experience numbness, tingling, tightness or occasional pulling sensations.

So mama, just because your incision looks healed doesn’t mean your body is completely healed inside. Give yourself time. Rest when you can, avoid overexertion, and gradually return to activities as your healthcare provider advises. ❤️

Your body went through major surgery to bring your baby into the world. Be gentle with yourself.
