Sickle Cell association Dutsin-ma Disease is not a crime, nor is it something to be ashamed of. We call on parents, teachers, community leaders, and young people to continue creating awareness about the importance of genotype testing before marriage and providing proper care for pregnant women living with Sickle Cell Disease.
Conclusion
A pregnant woman living with Sickle Cell Disease can give birth to a healthy baby if she follows medical advice and attends regular antenatal check-ups. Let us all work together to educate our communities and help reduce the spread of Sickle Cell Disease in our society.

This past Wednesday, leadership members of our association had the privilege of holding a highly productive meeting with the Local Government Director of Health, Alhaji Aminu Yahaya Kurfi, alongside representatives from the Dutsin-Ma Sickle Cell Association.

​We sincerely appreciate the Director's warm reception and the invaluable advice and suggestions he shared with us regarding health advocacy and community wellness. We are excited about the insights gained and look forward to a strong, impactful collaboration ahead to support our community.

DUTSIN-MA SICKLE CELL ASSOCIATION Yadda zai kare kansa daga haihuwar yara masu ciwon sickle cell (cutar sikila), ga wasu hanyoyi masu muhimmanci:
A yi gwajin genotype kafin aure.
A san ko mutum AA, AS, SS, AC, ko SC ne.
A guji auren mutane masu genotype da zai iya haifar da yara masu sickle cell.
Misali:
AA + AA = babu yaro SS.
AA + AS = babu yaro SS.
AS + AS = akwai yiwuwar haihuwar yaro SS.
AS + SS = haɗari sosai.
SS + SS = duk yara za su kasance SS.
A nemi shawarar likita ko ƙwararren mai ba da shawara kan kwayoyin halitta (genetic counseling) kafin aure idan ɗaya ko duka biyun suna ɗauke da kwayar cutar.
A yi gwajin jarirai da wuri bayan haihuwa domin gano matsalar da wuri idan tana akwai.
Ya kamata a sani cewa sickle cell ba cuta ce mai yaduwa daga mutum zuwa mutum ba, ana gadonta ne daga iyaye ta hanyar kwayoyin halitta.
