"I'm honestly not ok, my mum just came from the village to my home, she brought her traveling bag & it looks full, indicating she's not leaving soon.
Actually, i come from a poor background & have 4 siblings. But i was lucky to get a rich & wealthy husband . My husband has been supportive to me & he even open a shop for me where i deal with women fashion, like clothes, shoes & hand bags. But however, huby demands I always take permission from him before anyone from my family visits our home, which I accepted. For the past 4 years, I've made sure to respect his decision, none of my relatives have visited.
My mom called me last month, she said she'll visit us soon. Since then, I kept asking mama when, so I could discuss it with my husband first. But she didn't mention the specific day or time of her visit. 3 days ago, she came from the village unannounced. This is actually her first time visiting my house since I got married.
Although she wanted to come on many occasions, I told her to forget about visiting, and assured her that I'm fine just to avoid issues with hubby. Now she's come unannounced. Honestly, I'm not happy. For 3 days now, my husband has not said a word to either my mom or me & has started avoiding me.
I've been begging my husband, & I even told my mom to go back to the village until the atmosphere is calm. Besides, I don't have a newborn baby in the house, so what's the point of having her around now, especially where she's not wanted? My husband has refused my food, he now sleeps in the guest room, & goes out very early.
My home is about to be shattered cuz of my own mom. I have told her I will never forgive her if anything happens to my marriage. I am comfortable the way I am. I take my mother-in-law as my mother too, so if my mom doesn't visit, it's no big deal. My mother-in-law comes often, & I have no issue with that.
I believe I can always visit my mom in the village like I've been doing, but she's inconsiderate about this. She wants to enjoy a new environment, not minding if she's welcome or not. Since yesterday, I stopped talking to her, just so she will feel uncomfortable & leave but seems not moved. I don't want to be harsh with my mom. If my husband has to take away my shop & probably end our marriage we're all going to be on a loose end, I' don't know how els to make mama understand.
Please, how do I persuade this woman to just leave without causing trouble for me with my husband? I'm afraid &; I just don't want any problem in my house. Please guide me on this. What should I do about this situation? My marriage is still very young. I don't in anyway make my husband feel or think that I'm disrespecting him, Pls, I'm not ready to loose my husband😥"
