ENSACA Begins 3-Day Review on Enrollment of People Living with HIV into Universal Health Insurance Scheme
The Enugu State Agency for the Control of HIV and AIDS (ENSACA) has commenced a 3-day review meeting on the implementation and enrollment of People Living with HIV into the Universal Health Insurance Scheme.
The review demonstrates the Agency’s commitment to strengthening the state’s HIV response by ensuring that every person living with HIV has access to affordable, equitable, and sustainable healthcare services.
Speaking at the meeting, the Executive Secretary of ENSACA, Dr. Emeh Rita, PT, said that as donor funding for HIV programmes continues to evolve, integrating HIV services into the Universal Health Insurance Scheme is a strategic step toward ensuring long-term sustainability.
"Through this initiative, we aim to reduce financial barriers to healthcare, improve continuity of treatment, and enhance the quality of life of people living with HIV across Enugu State," she stated.
Dr. Emeh further expressed gratitude to *His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah*, for prioritizing the health and well-being of Ndi Enugu.
She also encouraged all eligible persons to come out and get enrolled in the scheme.
