This World Hepatitis Day, let’s break it down. 🧪

Hepatitis can affect anyone, and many people live with it without knowing. Early testing, vaccination, prevention, and treatment can save lives.

Let’s spread awareness and encourage our families, friends, and communities to know their status.

Take Action. Get Vaccinated. Get Tested. Get Treated.

Together, we can eliminate hepatitis.

World Hepatitis Day 2026

Hepatitis B remains one of the major public health challenges in our communities. Unfortunately, many people are unaware of their status until they undergo medical screening for employment, school admission, blood donation, or marriage.

At the Faskari Local Government Health Students Association (FALHESA), we believe that awareness is one of the most powerful tools for preventing disease. This photograph captures one of our community outreaches, where we partnered with Comprehensive Health Centre, Faskari to provide hepatitis B awareness, screening, and vaccination services at a primary school in Faskari Local Government Area.

As we commemorate World Hepatitis Day, we encourage everyone to:

✅ Know your hepatitis B status through testing.
✅ Get vaccinated if you are eligible.
✅ Seek medical advice if you test positive.
✅ Help fight stigma by sharing accurate information instead of myths.

Every person informed is another life protected. Together, through education, prevention, and community action, we can reduce the burden of hepatitis B and build a healthier future for all.

FALHESA remains committed to promoting health, preventing disease, and serving our community through education and outreach.

*OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM FASKARI LOCAL GOVERNMENT HEALTH STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION (FALHESA) ON THE ABDUCTION OF ABDUSSALAM RABIU FASKARI*

With deep concern and heavy hearts, we, the Faskari Local Government Health Students' Association (FALHESA), express our distress over the abduction of our esteemed member, Abdussalam Rabiu Faskari, along with his father and brother. Abdussalam, a distinguished Quranic memorizer and the recent winner of the National Qur'anic Recitation Competition (60 Hizb category), was kidnapped while returning home after being honored for his remarkable achievement.

Abdussalam is not just a source of pride for FALHESA but for the entire Faskari community, Katsina State, and Nigeria as a whole. His dedication to both his academic and religious pursuits is an inspiration to many, and we strongly condemn this unfortunate act that threatens peace and security in our region.

We call on the Katsina State Government, security agencies, and all relevant authorities to intensify efforts toward his safe and swift return. We also urge the public to keep him and his family in their prayers during this difficult time.

As an association, we stand united in support of his family and reaffirm our commitment to advocating for the safety and well-being of all our members. We remain hopeful that Abdussalam and his loved ones will regain their freedom soon.
