*Sea salt vs regular table salt*
*What Is Salt?*
Salt is a crystalline mineral made of two elements, sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl).
Sodium and chlorine are essential for your body, as they help your brain and nerves send electrical impulses.
*Sea salt*
Sea salt is salt that is produced by the evaporation of seawater. It is used as a seasoning in foods, cooking, cosmetics and for preserving food. It is also called bay salt, solar salt, or simply salt.
*Eating too much of any salt is harmful. But sea salt is a healthful alternative to table salt.*
Sea salt comes from a natural source and contains other minerals, including, magnesium, calcium, potassium. Table salt does not have these additional nutrients, but it does contain iodine if fortified. *Getting enough sodium, regardless of the type of salt it's from, is important for hydration and blood pressure.*
Benefits of sea salt
A pinch of sea salt in a glass of water helps nourish adrenal fatigue sufferers and boost alkalinity.
A daily glass of warm lemon water with natural sea salt may provide a better overall mineral balance, help promote proper food and water absorption in your body and improve the uptake of essential nutrients. Boosts immune function.
Sea salt is much less damaging to the kidney than regular salt during high salt consumption.
Sea salt is mostly composed of sodium chloride, a compound that helps *regulate fluid balance and blood pressure in the body.*
Add it to water to bath or drink to reap a multitude of health benefits.
*Note:*
Table salt is also needed because of it iodine. Iodine deficiency is a leading cause of hypothyroidism, intellectual disability and various other health problems.
Therefore, if you choose not to eat regular iodine-enriched table salt, make sure you’re eating other foods that are high in iodine, such as fish, dairy, eggs and seaweed.
