EMOTIONAL EATING & WEIGHT GAIN
Have you ever eaten when you weren’t really hungry?
Maybe you were:
😔 Sad
😩 Stressed
😡 Angry
😴 Bored
🥱 Tired
🎉 Celebrating
Sometimes we eat to manage our feelings rather than physical hunger. This is known as emotional eating.
Emotional eating may lead to larger portions, frequent snacking, or choosing foods that are high in sugar and calories. Over time, this can contribute to weight gain.
But please remember ❤️ emotional eating is not a lack of discipline.
Before reaching for food, pause and ask yourself:
👉 “Am I physically hungry, or am I trying to make myself feel better?”
If you’re not physically hungry, try another activity first:
🚶♀️ Take a short walk
💧 Drink some water
📞 Talk to someone
🎵 Listen to music
🧘♀️ Take a few deep breaths
😴 Rest if you’re tired
And if you do overeat, don’t punish yourself or give up. Simply return to your normal healthy routine at your next meal. ❤️
💬 BE HONEST: When you’re stressed, what do you usually reach for?
A️⃣ Sweet things 🍰
B️⃣ Fried foods 🍟
C️⃣ Soft drinks 🥤
D️⃣ I lose my appetite
