One eye turning in, out, up, or down is not something a child will always “outgrow” on its own. 👀
Strabismus, commonly called “crossed eyes” or “squint,” happens when the eyes are not properly aligned and do not look in the same direction at the same time.
In children, this is important because the brain can begin to ignore the weaker eye over time, which may lead to poor vision development (lazy eye) if not treated early.
Some signs parents may notice include:
• Eyes that appear misaligned
• Frequent squinting or head tilting
• Difficulty focusing
• Poor depth perception
Early detection can make a huge difference. Treatment may include glasses, patching therapy, eye exercises, or other forms of management depending on the cause.
Routine eye examinations are important for proper visual development and overall learning. 🤍
