HEALTH ADVICE FOR THE RAINY SEASON 🌧️

1. Prevent Malaria & Mosquitoes
- Sleep under an insecticide-treated net every night
- Clear stagnant water around your home - gutters, buckets, tires
- Use mosquito repellent, especially from 6pm-6am
- If you have fever, headache, body pain - test for malaria early

2. Avoid Water-borne Diseases: Typhoid, Cholera, Diarrhea
- Drink only clean, treated or boiled water
- Wash hands with soap before eating and after toilet
- Eat hot, well-cooked food. Avoid roadside cut fruits and exposed food
- If you have watery diarrhea + vomiting, use ORS and go to hospital fast

3. Stay Warm & Prevent Colds/Cough
- Don’t get caught in the rain with wet clothes. Change immediately
- Keep your body warm, especially children and elderly
- Steam inhalation for blocked nose. Don’t self-medicate antibiotics

4. Skin & Foot Care
- Dry your feet well to avoid athlete’s foot and rashes
- Wear covered shoes/slippers to avoid dirty flood water
- Flood water can cause skin infections and leptospirosis

5. Safety
- Don’t walk through deep flood water - risk of electric shock and wounds
- Drive carefully. Roads are slippery
- Keep drugs and documents in waterproof bags
