Happy International Men’s Day 🩵🩵

Today, we celebrate the strength, responsibility, courage, and resilience that men bring to our homes, workplaces, and communities.

As Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

This is a beautiful reminder that men thrive when they support, challenge, and uplift one another.

To every father, brother, friend, colleague, mentor, and role model thank you for showing up, for leading with strength, and for standing strong even when it’s not easy.

You guys are the real MVPs. 👏💯

Tag a man you appreciate today. 🩵

Every health day tells a unique story.

Today, November 12th, is World Pneumonia Day a reminder that pneumonia is preventable, treatable, yet still claims lives every year, especially among children and older adults.

What is Pneumonia?
Pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs. It can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi.

Common Symptoms Include:

Persistent cough (sometimes with phlegm)

Fever and chills

Shortness of breath or rapid breathing

Chest pain when breathing or coughing

Fatigue or confusion (especially in older adults)

Prevention is powerful and must not be neglected.

How you can lower your risk of pneumonia:

✅ Get vaccinated especially for children, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions.

✅ Wash your hands regularly to prevent spread of germs.

✅ Avoid smoking it weakens your lungs’ defense system.

✅ Practice good nutrition and hygiene.

✅ Treat respiratory infections early and avoid self-medication.

As your pharmacist, I help patients prevent pneumonia by promoting vaccination, guiding safe antibiotic use, and educating on early treatment and proper hygiene.

Every healthy breath matters.

Together, we can prevent pneumonia and protect our communities.

Why I Chose to Volunteer and Why You Should Too.

When I joined Dihyperhealth as a volunteer, I did not just sign up for another role, I joined a movement.

A movement that brings hope to people living with diabetes, sickle cell anaemia, and cancer, and works to make healthcare more accessible for all.

Through outreach, patient support programs, and advocacy projects, I have learned that true impact does not always start with a big title, sometimes it starts with a willing heart.

Volunteering has helped me:

Meet passionate changemakers.

Build valuable skills that strengthen my career.

And most importantly make a difference, one person at a time.

If you have ever wanted to contribute your skills to a worthy cause, this is your chance.

Dihyperhealth is currently looking for:

Video content creators

Graphic designers

Online publicity volunteers

Video editors

This is your chance to be part of something bigger than you.

A chance to grow, learn, serve, and earn a Certificate of Service while doing what truly matters.

Public Alert No. 37/2025.
Alert on the Report of Substandard and Falsified (SF) BETACLOX found in Nigeria

https://bit.ly/4hPmxfD

NAFDAC is alerting the public to a suspected substandard and falsified (SF) pharmaceutical product identified within the drug supply chain. The product in question, BETACLOX (a combination of ampicillin and cloxacillin), contains fraudulent registration details and comes from an unverified source, posing significant risks to public health.

The SF product was procured from Gambori Market in Maiduguri metropolis, Borno State, by a distributor in Kano who subsequently sold it to a retail outlet in Zaria, Kaduna State. The retail outlet in Zaria reported the product as suspected SF, initiating this investigation.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the NAFDAC Registration Number (NRN) A4-4724 displayed on the SF product belongs to an entirely different product: Mebendazole 500mg, manufactured by Chi Ltd. This is a clear case of misappropriation of a registration number.

While the SF product packaging displays the address as “No. 128 MCC Road, Calabar,” verification against the PCN (Pharmacists Council of Nigeria) list of registered premises confirms that Freeview Pharmaceutical Ltd. is located at “No. 101 MCC Road, Calabar, Cross River State.” This discrepancy raises additional concerns about the product’s authenticity and the potential unauthorised use of the company’s name.

BETACLOX is a combination of ampicillin and cloxacillin. Ampicillin + Cloxacillin capsules are a fixed-dose combination drug used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose and throat, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue, and gastrointestinal system.

Product Details:
•Product Name: BETACLOX (Ampicillin 250mg and Cloxacillin 250mg)
•Alleged Importer: Freeview Pharmaceutical Ltd.
•Address: No. 128 MCC Road, Calabar, Cross River State
•Manufacturer: Saeny Laboratory Pvt, Ltd, Elappunkal Junction, Kozhuvanal, Kerala, 864 423 India
•Batch No.: 230701
•Man. Date: 07/2023
•Exp. Date: 07/2026
•NAFDAC REG. NO: A4 4724

Healthcare professionals and consumers are advised to report any suspicion of the sale of substandard and falsified medicines or medical devices to the nearest NAFDAC office, call 0800-162-3322, or send an email to [email protected]

Dear Patients, Please Ask Questions.

Your medications work best when you understand them and use them correctly.

Don’t be shy or feel intimidated, your pharmacist is here for you.

Next time you are given a prescription or buying medicine, take a moment to ask these 5 important questions:

1️⃣ What is this medicine for?

2️⃣ When and how should I take it?

3️⃣ How should I store it?

4️⃣ Can it interact with my other medicines?

5️⃣ What are the side effects?

Asking questions doesn't mean that you are being difficult, it is you taking responsibility for your health.

Because when you know better, you take better care of yourself.

BLUE NOVEMBER

He looks strong.
He’s holding it together.
He says, “I’m fine.”
But deep down, many men are quietly breaking.

Society taught our men to hide their pain in the bid to be the “rock,” to “man up,” and never show weakness.

But silence doesn’t make anyone stronger it just makes the pain grow deeper.

Men experience stress, anxiety, and depression just like everyone else they just don’t always feel safe to talk about it.

Signs a man may be struggling:

Sudden anger or withdrawal

Loss of interest in things he used to enjoy

Sleep problems

Drinking or smoking more than usual

Saying “I’m tired” too often emotionally, not just physically

What we can do to help:

✅ Listening without judgment

✅ Checking in on your male friends and family

✅ Encouraging therapy, counseling, or talking to a health professional

✅ Reminding men that vulnerability is not weakness — it’s courage

This Blue November, let us go beyond prostate checks.

Let us also check on the mind and heart of our men.

Because mental health is men’s health.
