This morning, something came to my mind and I felt the need to share it.

While growing up, we had a neighbor who always played a particular song. That song was based on a real-life story, and it stuck with me.

It tells of a mother who went through so much pain and sacrifice for her only son. One day, she went out in search of food for him. But when she returned, she met her house in flames and her baby, still lying on the bed, was inside.

She cried and begged the young men in the neighborhood to help save her child. But no one was willing to risk their lives. As the fire intensified, she made a painful decision of going in herself to save her Son. She came out alive with her son, but not without a terrible accident that left a permanent scar on her body.

The boy grew up but instead of honoring her sacrifice, he became ashamed of her. He didn’t want her to take him to school or associate too closely with him in public.
He was embarrassed by the visible scar on her body.

One day, she insisted on going to school to make a payment for him. When someone asked who she was, the boy without hesitation said she was just a maid in their house.
Imagine the pain she must have felt in that moment.
A woman who risked everything for her child.... now disowned and disrespected

Why bite the hand that fed you?

Lessons:
Never be ashamed of the people who stood by you at your lowest.

Don’t forget those who made sacrifices for your survival.

Scars may look ugly, but behind many of them is a story of love

Don't forget the ones who were there before the applause came

Some scars tell stories of love, sacrifice and deep pain, don't be quick to judge

Honor your parents especially the ones who bled to raise you.

Why should I ever force a relationship or friendship? You’re deeply loved at home stop lowering your worth for people you think might help you. They’re human, not God. Do better, darling 🥰

I’m not at my happiest. The energy I wish for isn’t fully here… but I’m still moving. I won’t let anything slow my pace or dim my drive.
I will do exploits. I will walk the path of great men and women.
And yes I will make Mama proud. 💙

A Ticket That Taught Me a Lesson

I attended a Theatre Arts production recently, and while the performance was captivating, it was something much smaller that left a lasting impression on me a ticket. Yes, a simple entry ticket. Before the event, it held so much value. People lined up for it, clung to it, and wouldn’t dare misplace it. It was the one thing that granted you access. But the moment the event ended, that same ticket suddenly became useless. I watched as people casually dropped theirs to the ground or left them behind on chairs. What was once so important had become nothing more than litter.

It got me thinking.

Isn’t that how life works sometimes? We place value on things because of what they can do for us in the moment. But once they’ve served their purpose, we forget them, discard them even if they played a major role in getting us somewhere meaningful. That ticket was essential for entry, but after the show, no one wanted it. It made me reflect deeply on the way we treat people, opportunities, and even experiences.

There’s also something to be said about the difference between those who used the ticket and those who never got one. Some missed out entirely because they didn't recognize the value of the opportunity when it was within reach. Others used it wisely and experienced something worthwhile. And then there were those who had it but never showed up never got to see the beauty of what it could offer.

That small piece of paper reminded me to be intentional. To recognize the worth of things and people not just in the moment, but beyond it. And to never take access or opportunity for granted.

Sometimes, life’s biggest lessons come in the simplest forms like a discarded ticket on the floor.

Happy Sunday ✝️🤗
