Med Aware ReproEd Outreach 🌸

Last week, we took our reproductive health awareness to the heart of Canaan High School, Jos, Plateau State, creating a safe space for our girls and young ladies to learn, ask questions, and break the silence around their reproductive health.

From Cervical & Breast Cancer awareness to understanding their bodies, consent, and making informed choices, knowledge is truly power! πŸ’ͺ

We’re proud of every girl who showed up, participated, and left more informed. The future is brighter when our girls are equipped with the right information.

At Med Aware, we believe no girl should navigate womanhood in confusion or shame.

Anaemia is more than just fatigue.

It is a medical condition that occurs when the blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells or haemoglobin to carry adequate oxygen to the body’s tissues.

If left unmanaged, it can significantly impact energy levels, cognitive function, physical performance, and overall quality of life. 🩸

Key Reminders
- Persistent fatigue or weakness should never be ignored β€” it may signal an underlying issue.
- A balanced, nutrient-rich diet (particularly iron, vitamin B12, and folate) plays a vital role in prevention and support.
- Routine medical check-ups enable early detection and better outcomes.
- Self-medication can be harmful. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Watch, learn, and share this important information.

Raising awareness can help more people recognise the signs and seek timely care.

🚫 Myth: You can’t get pregnant while breastfeeding.

βœ… Fact: Ovulation can occur before your first postpartum period β€” meaning pregnancy is possible even while breastfeeding.

Many new mothers are surprised to learn that exclusive breastfeeding does not guarantee protection against pregnancy.

While breastfeeding can suppress ovulation, Understanding your fertility after childbirth is essential for family planning and reproductive health.

πŸ’‘ Takeaway: If you're not ready for another pregnancy, discuss contraception options with your healthcare provider, even while nursing.
πŸ‘‰ Save this for later and share with someone who needs to know!

Girls in Jos are sitting in classrooms right now, with no one telling them about their bodies. No one explaining what's normal, what's not, or how to protect themselves.

Medaware's ReproEd campaign is changing that, going directly into secondary schools to teach menstrual health, HPV awareness, and cervical cancer prevention. But they can't reach every school alone. Your support sends them further. Give something today. 🌸
