PRESS RELEASE.
WE ARE READY TO SUPPORT KSCHMA- WHO.
The World Health Organisation team under the leadership of Dr. Mayana Abubakar paid a courtesy call to the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency.
The team leader appreciated the efforts of the Executive Secretary Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar in moving the Agency forward through various initiatives.
He added that the milestone achieved by the E.S within the short period was commendable, compared to other states he visited, he also commended the political will of the state Administration under the able governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Dr. Mayana emphasised the importance of the Contributory Healthcare scheme in improving the healthcare system if manage properly.
He finally said the World Health Organisation would support the Agency in many Areas to reduce the maternal mortality and morbidity rate, and to achieve Universal Health Coverage to all residents of kano.
In her response the Executive Secretary Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar appreciated the team for the visit and added that since her assumption she has been working hard to ensure the successful implementation of the scheme in the state.
Dr. Rahila added that, many initiatives were in place to improve the healthcare service in the engaged facilities especially lack of prescribed drugs to enrolees.
The integration of KSCHMA drugs into DRF which would commence soon were parts of the efforts to address the out of stock syndrome in the engaged facilities. She added.

KSCHMA ORGANISED A 3-DAY CONSULTATIVE WORKSHOP WITH ORGANISED PRIVATE SECTOR.
Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency with support from FCDO Lafiya Programme has organised a 3-day consultative workshop with Organised Private Sector in an effort to convince them to key in to the State Contributory Healthcare Scheme for the benefit of their members.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar pleaded with the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress Kano State chapter to help the Agency to bring the private sector on board so that quality and affordable healthcare will be provided to huge number of Kano residents working in the sector.
Dr. Rahila added that, it has been difficult for the Agency alone to do this important work, despite the advantage of the scheme over other healthcare plans patronised by some private organisations.
The Executive Secretary also presented a paper Titled KSCHMA: The journey so far. Where she stated that the Agency was established to ensure that all Kano residents have access to quality and affordable healthcare irrespective of their status.
She added that the enrolees of the scheme utilised more than 900,000 different healthcare services in 2023 and more than 300,000 services in the first quarter of 2024.
Dr. Rahila called on organisations, communities and individuals to key into the scheme to benefit from the enormous opportunities and general improvement of healthcare services in the state.
In their separate goodwill messages the labour unions, partners and important dignitaries appreciated the efforts of KSCHMA leadership for organising the workshop, which they described as a very important step towards achieving universal Health Coverage for all residents of Kano
The workshop was attended by Representatives of some companies, leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), Joint Negotiation Council (JNC), Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Organised Private Sector Unions (OPS), and National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, FCDO Lafiya and KANSLAM were among the development partners present during the workshop.

PRESS RELEASE..

EID -EL-KABIR IS A TIME OF SACRIFICE, LOVE, AND TOLERANCE.- E S. KSCHMA.

The Executive Secretary KSCHMA Dr Rahila Mukhtar felicitates the Muslim ummah on Eid-el-kabir celebration.
Dr. Rahila called on the people to use the period to show love, tolerance and forgiveness to one another.

She congratulates His Excellency the Governor of Kano Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf (Gida-Gida), members of the State executive council, Kano House of Assembly and the good people of Kano.

Dr. Rahila also extends special greetings to the great leader of Kwankwasiyya movement and NNPP presidential candidate Senator Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso.

She finally appreciated the support of KSCHMA management and staff and assured people of Kano that all hands are on deck to improve the healthcare services in the state, and to achieve Universal Health Coverage for all residents of Kano.
