The Canada-Africa Monkeypox Project (CAMP) had its Nigerian Launch on the 5th of April, 2023. The study will be focusing on 'Characterizing Transmission Dynamics and Evaluating Medical Countermeasures' to inform the Clinical and Public Health Response to Monkeypox in Canada and Nigeria.

CAMP Nigeria is a consortium of the following institutions Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), International Research Center of Excellence_IHVN, MGIC an affiliate of UofMaryland and SRHIN AFRICA who will be working with their Canadian partners, UofT and canadaembassy.

The result of this study and the capacity that will be built will also help in combating future pandemics.
The launch ended with media briefing/session with some of the top media houses in the country.
