The Problem With LASU: After Aspirants Have Given Up, LASU Suddenly Offers Them Admission

This is one of the biggest frustrations every LASU aspirant complains about.

Many students wait for weeks or even months without seeing admission on JAMB CAPS or the LASU portal. Out of fear of losing the admission year, they quickly do Change of Institution to another university.

Then, a few days later...

Boom! LASU uploads admission on their portal.

The painful part is that once you've changed your institution on JAMB, that LASU admission may no longer be valid because your JAMB record has already been moved.

The lesson for 2026/2027 aspirants

Don't rush to leave LASU because someone else has been admitted before you. LASU releases admission in batches, and many qualified candidates receive admission much later.

Before changing institution, do these first:

Confirm your screening status properly.

Check if your course is still admitting candidates.

Monitor both LASU portal and JAMB CAPS.

Get proper guidance before making any change.

A wrong decision can cost you the admission you've been waiting for.

Have a plan B. Have a ready plan in place so as not to miss the entire year.

If your name is not on the first list, this message is for you.

Take a deep breath and read to the end.

Every year, thousands of UNIZIK aspirants panic after the first admission list drops. They conclude that it's over.

No. That's not how UNIZIK admission works.

UNIZIK does not admit everyone at once. Admission is released in batches, and many students who missed the first list eventually gained admission on later lists.

So, what should you do now?

* Keep checking your JAMB CAPS regularly.

* Accept admission immediately once it appears.

* Make sure your O'Level result is uploaded correctly on JAMB CAPS.

* Don't ignore any update from the school or JAMB.

This waiting period is where many students make costly mistakes because they stop checking or listen to fake information online.

Your admission is still possible, but you have to stay alert.
