On this pitch, performance isn’t the only thing that matters… health does too.

At Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation, we go beyond the game to make sure athletes are truly fit from the inside out.

This moment captures one of the most important checks we carry out — fasting blood sugar screening. Because heart health isn’t just about what happens during a match, it’s about what’s happening in the body every single day.

Through , we're making it clear:
Every player deserves access to proper medical screening, early detection, and the knowledge to stay in the game longer.

This is how we protect the future of soccer.

If you’re about impact, prevention, and real change in football… we’re already doing the work.

Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation delivered cardiac screening and CPR training at the Super 6 NWFL Competition in Bayelsa, reinforcing our commitment to athlete safety and the prevention of sudden cardiac death in sports.

Using ECG based cardiac assessments, we screened and trained 52 participants, with 77 percent being female players, to identify underlying cardiac risk factors and improve emergency response readiness. Routine cardiac monitoring is critical in athletes, as early detection can help prevent conditions that may lead to lethal arrhythmias during intense physical activity.

This initiative reflects our medical expertise and long term vision to ensure that every football player is protected on and off the pitch.

🌍⚽️ Happy World Environment Day from the Samson Siasia Stadium in Bayelsa! 🏟️✨ Today, we're celebrating our beautiful planet and the ongoing “Heartbeat of Soccer” initiative, launched by the Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation in partnership with the Nigerian Women Football League on May 25th, 2024.

Participants of the Super 6 tournament, including players, coaches, and administrators from Rivers Angels, Delta Queens, Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens, and Robo Queens, received vital health screenings such as ECG tests, blood pressure checks, cholesterol, and fasting blood sugar tests. These screenings aim to detect potential substrates for lethal cardiac arrhythmias, which can lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death on the field.

Additionally, CPR training empowered all participants with the skills to help save a victim of cardiac arrest.

As we admire the pristine pitch here at Samson Siasia Stadium, we also want to thank the NWFL for providing such excellent conditions for the players. Let's remember that a healthy environment contributes to the health of our athletes. 🌱⚽ Let's keep our environment clean and green, and our hearts strong and healthy!
