‎How do you help a person with seizure?

‎1. Be calm.

‎2. Ensure the environment is safe by removing anything that can cause injury.

‎3.Do a quick check to see if the person is wearing a medical bracelet. This will let you know if they have a pre-existing condition and help you inform medical professionals when they arrive.

‎4. Turn them gently to one side with their mouth pointing to the ground. This will ensure their airway is kept clear.

‎5. If the seizure lasts for more than 5 minutes, call the medical emergency immediately.

‎6. Sit them up when the seizure is over and they are alert. Stay with them until help arrives.

‎A young lady walked into my office with her friend. She knocked, and I asked her to come in. What happened next took me by surprise.

‎With a worried face, she came close to my chair and said, “Please, can you help me check my right breast?”

‎I froze for a few seconds, completely taken aback. I asked her why she wanted that. She explained that she had felt something hard in her right breast and needed me to confirm.

‎Just the previous day, I had spoken to a group of young women about breast cancer and the importance of breast self-examination.

‎She had gone home and did exactly what I taught. And guess what? She found a lump.

‎I immediately praised her for acting on what she learned and referred her to the hospital for further examination.

‎A few days ago, I met her again. She ran up to me, hugged me tightly, and thanked me (the early check had helped her get timely treatment).

‎💗 Early detection saves lives. Don’t ignore any changes in your body. Do your breast self-examination today.

Every October is set aside as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to unite in the fight against one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide.

This October 2025, let’s remember:
We all share the responsibility of creating awareness, encouraging early detection, and supporting those affected.

Together, we can do more by getting screened, learning the warning signs, and spreading life-saving information to others.

Our health truly lies in our hands.
