Cutting Off Friends? Think Twice!
The deadline was staring me down – 9 hours left, and I hadn’t even started. It was a Saturday, and I had a million things to do. The assignment? Anatomy drawings. Three organs. I know what you’re thinking – what were you doing all this time? Don’t ask! 😂
I thought about my options and decided to reach out to one of my closest friends, the guy is a walking talent factory. Not a medical student, but a science teacher and artist (plus a bunch of other things). I asked if he could help, and without hesitation, he said yes. He finished the drawings quickly, delivered them to my house, and just like that, I was ready to scan and submit.
Later that day, I sat down and reflected. I realized how blessed I am to have friends like him. They may not always have money to throw around, but their hearts? Priceless.
✨ Friends who walk the market with you.
✨ Friends who run errands for your mum when you’re away.
✨ Friends who cook for you when you’re sick and sit by your hospital bed.
✨ Friends who let you ugly cry and call them at 2 AM.
✨ Friends whose advice feels like therapy.
✨ Friends who babysit your kids, help with school runs, or offer their skills for free; hairdressing, tailoring, baking, art… the list goes on.
Your circle may not have millions to offer right now, but with time, growth and progress will happen. Some friends have the heart to give, even if they don’t have the funds just yet. Appreciate the small things, those acts of service are love in its purest form.
So before you start trimming your friend list for the new year, ask yourself – are you cutting off people who would show up for you when it matters most?
• Do you have a friend who has gone above and beyond for you this year?
• Tag them and give them their flowers 🌸 in the comments.
Compliments of the season! May the new year bring you more love, joy, and the kind of friendships that make life beautiful. ❤️🎄
