WHY CREAMS WORK ON YOUR SKIN AND THEN SUDDENLY STOPS WORKING AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT - - You've bought many creams, they initially work well and enjoy the glow for like a month then fiam!
Out of nowhere, it appears to stop working and all the glow starts to rewind and disappear!
Is this your story ? Read on to know why this happens and what to do about it!
There are a couple of reasons why this happens,
1) If you don't exfoliate or you over exfoliate your skin - Exfoliating means to take off dead skin cells lying on the surface of the skin that blocks products from reaching the new skin underneath to do its work but you don't know you're seeing your skin and applying creams!
Using sponge is a form of exfoliation but using sponge daily is wrong because it causes the skin to become over exfoliated thereby the skin stops responding to products and focuses on healing and when we heal, we darken!
2) Unstable active ingredients - If your creams has brightening agents or exfoliating agents that are unstable , they'll appear to work but because they've been exposed to air and daily opening and closing the products will render the active ingredients inactive, thereby it appears to work then stopped
3) Constant sun exposure - You should know how to read skincare ingredients or get the skincare dictionary to know how to read skincare ingredients.
Some ingredients don't do well being exposed to sun and they react on the skin and causes you to darken and look rough.
So what should we do ?
1) Exfoliate by using your sponge twice weekly and at night, meaning two times in a week and at night! Might seem strange but you'll marvel! Also invest in exfoliating serum or retinol cream for your face down to the neck
2) Use sunscreen daily to prevent your products reacting on your skin and turning you dark
3) Better still use brightening products at night and sunscreen during the day.
