COMMON SIGNS YOU NEED AN EYE EXAMINATION
Regular eye exams help detect vision problems early — even before symptoms appear.
But if you notice any of the signs below, it’s time to schedule an eye check-up.
1. Blurry or Distorted Vision
✓ Trouble seeing clearly near or far
✓ Words appear fuzzy
✓ Straight lines look wavy
This could be due to myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, or eye disease.
2. Frequent Headaches
✓ Eye strain from uncorrected vision problems can trigger headaches.
✓ Often worse after reading, screen time, or driving
3. Difficulty Reading Small Print
✓ Needing to hold text farther away
Common sign of presbyopia (age-related near vision changes)
4. Squinting Often
If you squint to see things clearly — especially in bright light — you may need prescription glasses.
5. Eye Strain or Tired Eyes
✓ Burning, itching, or heaviness in the eyes
Often caused by long hours on screens
6. Poor Night Vision
✓ Trouble driving at night
✓ Glare or halos around lights
7. Double Vision
Seeing two images of a single object is a red flag — see an eye doctor immediately.
8. Frequent Changes in Vision
✓ Need to update your glasses often
✓ Sudden changes in clarity
This may indicate underlying health issues like diabetes or high blood pressure.
9. Dry, Red, or Irritated Eyes
Persistent dryness, burning, or redness could suggest:
✓ Dry eye syndrome
✓ Allergies
✓ Infection
10. Sensitivity to Light
Increased light sensitivity may be associated with migraines, infections, or inflammation.
11. Signs in Children
✓ Squinting
✓ Eye rubbing
✓ Sitting too close to screens
✓ Difficulty seeing the board at school
Early detection helps prevent long-term vision problems.
