Police, Hospital Management Strengthen Security Ties in Ondo
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Fagun Division, Ondo Town, SP Oginni Cornelius, has paid a familiarisation visit to the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Akintade Adeola, as part of efforts to strengthen security collaboration within the healthcare facility.
The visit, which took place at the hospital premises in Ondo Town, brought together key officers from the police division and members of the hospital’s management team. The engagement focused on assessing the existing security framework of the hospital and identifying areas for improvement.
Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Adeola expressed appreciation for the proactive step taken by the police leadership, noting that hospitals require a secure environment to effectively deliver critical healthcare services. He highlighted the importance of safeguarding patients, staff, and hospital property, especially in a busy public health institution.
In his remarks, Mr. Oginni stated that the visit was aimed at fostering a stronger working relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the hospital management. He emphasized the need for regular collaboration, intelligence sharing, and improved response mechanisms to address security concerns within and around the hospital.
The DPO also assured the management of the division’s readiness to support the hospital through increased patrols, rapid response to emergencies, and advisory support on security best practices.
Discussions during the visit covered access control, emergency preparedness, and the need for improved surveillance systems. Both parties agreed on the importance of continuous engagement and periodic reviews of security arrangements.
The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to work closely in ensuring a safer environment for healthcare delivery and public safety in Ondo Town.
