UPTH HOSTS ELELE-ALIMINI MONARCH, AS CMD ASSURES COMMUNITY OF INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT
The Management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital has expressed delight over the visit of the Elele-Alimini Monarch, Eze Peter W. Wagbara CP (Rtd), and his royal entourage, describing it as the first royal visit to the hospital since the new administrative leadership assumed office in January.
Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Chituru Orluwene DSSRS JP, who received the monarch alongside members of management, recalled the longstanding friendship and cordial relationship they have shared from their youthful days, a bond which, according to him, became even stronger during the monarch’s distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force where he rose to the rank of Commissioner of Police.
Prof. Orluwene extolled the sterling qualities of the royal father, describing him as a disciplined, thoroughbred and exemplary police officer whose leadership and influence have continued to positively impact the Elele-Alimini community. He noted that the visit was not only a personal honour to him but also a remarkable moment for the entire UPTH family.
The CMD assured the monarch that Elele-Alimini Kingdom would not be sidelined under his administration, stressing that the management of the hospital remains committed to fairness, inclusiveness and the delivery of effective, efficient and quality healthcare services in line with the mandate of the institution.
Speaking during the visit, the Royal Father, Eze Peter W. Wagbara CP (Rtd), described the occasion as a moment of joy, pride and fulfilment for himself and the entire Elele-Alimini Kingdom.
The monarch thanked God for the appointment of Prof. Orluwene as Chief Medical Director of UPTH, noting that the community considers him one of their own and remains optimistic about the positive transformation his leadership would bring to the institution.
Eze Wagbara charged the CMD to remain focused and resolute in the discharge of his duties, urging members of the hospital management team to give him their maximum cooperation, loyalty and constant support to enable him actualise his vision of repositioning the hospital to its pride of place as one of Nigeria’s foremost tertiary healthcare institutions.
He further expressed appreciation to the CMD and the entire management team for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage, describing the large turnout of management staff as a symbolic honour not only to his person but to the entire Elele-Alimini community.
