Barrier care is having a serious moment, and I understand why.
1 KG RECIPE
Distilled Water — 859 g
Glycerin — 30 g
Sunflower Oil — 50 g
Emulsifying Wax NF — 40 g
Cetyl Alcohol — 10 g
Ectoin — 1 g
Preservative — 10 g
Prepare and heat the water and oil phases separately, emulsify, cool, then add ectoin and preservative according to supplier recommendations.
It's a simple cream built around hydration and barrier-support ingredients rather than a kitchen-sink formula.

Here's another example of how you can build a sophisticated facial lotion without making the ingredient list ridiculous.
1 KG RECIPE
Distilled Water — 845 g
Glycerin — 30 g
Sunflower Oil — 50 g
Emulsifying Wax NF — 40 g
Cetyl Alcohol — 15 g
N-Acetyl Glucosamine — 10 g
Preservative — 10 g
Prepare the water and oil phases separately, emulsify, cool and add the N-acetyl glucosamine and preservative according to supplier instructions.
A good formulation isn't about having the longest ingredient list.
It's about choosing ingredients that make sense together.

If your idea of good skincare is hydration without a heavy feeling, save this one.
1 KG RECIPE
Distilled Water — 949 g
Glycerin — 30 g
Beta-Glucan — 5 g
Panthenol — 6 g
Preservative — 10 g
Add the beta-glucan carefully and allow it to fully hydrate. Add glycerin, panthenol and preservative according to supplier instructions, then mix until uniform.
Beta-glucan is a lovely ingredient for hydration-focused formulations.

ZINC PCA OIL-CONTROL GEL
For oily skin, sometimes lightweight is the whole point.
1 KG RECIPE
Distilled Water — 949 g
Glycerin — 30 g
Propanediol — 10 g
Zinc PCA — 3 g
Xanthan Gum — 1 g
Preservative — 7 g
Disperse the xanthan properly, dissolve the Zinc PCA, combine the ingredients and mix until you get a smooth gel. Check the finished pH and preserve according to supplier specifications.
No oils. No heavy butter. Just a lightweight gel base.
Would you use this instead of a facial cream?
