It can affect the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, brain, blood vessels, feet, teeth, skin, and s*xual health. Good glucose control, regular screening, BP and cholesterol management, healthy lifestyle, and early treatment can prevent or delay many complications.

🔹 Acute complications
➟ Hypoglycemia means low blood sugar
➟ Diabetic ketoacidosis can occur, especially in type 1 diabetes
➟ Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state can occur, especially in type 2 diabetes
➟ These can be life-threatening and need urgent care.
