🩺 Topic: The Importance of Regular Health Check-Ups

Many people only visit the hospital when they’re seriously ill, forgetting that prevention is better than cure.
Regular health check-ups help detect diseases early—like hypertension, diabetes, infections, or even cancer—before they cause major harm.

Skipping check-ups means silent conditions can grow unnoticed. For example, high blood pressure doesn’t show symptoms until it’s too late, and high cholesterol can quietly damage your heart for years.

🧠 Remember:
Your body may feel fine, but that doesn’t mean everything is fine.
A 30-minute check-up once or twice a year could save your life.

✅ Take Action Today:
• Check your blood pressure and sugar level regularly
• Do an annual medical test (CBC, liver, kidney, etc.)
• Listen to your body — fatigue, weight loss, or changes in sleep may mean more

💬 When was the last time you had a full body check-up?

🎥 A Member Speaks on Menstrual Hygiene 🩸

Today, we’re proud to share a short video from one of our members of the Association of Medical/Health Students, Lamurde LGA, as she talks about Menstrual Hygiene — a topic that deserves more awareness and open discussion.

Menstrual hygiene isn’t just about staying clean; it’s about understanding your body, breaking myths, and promoting health and dignity. Many girls and women still face challenges due to lack of information, access to sanitary materials, or cultural stigma.

Let’s remember:
✅ Change your sanitary pad every 4–6 hours.
✅ Always wash your hands before and after changing.
✅ Avoid using dirty or unhygienic materials.
✅ Educate others — menstrual health is everyone’s business!

Together, we can create a society where menstruation is not seen as shameful, but as a normal and healthy part of life. ❤️

🧠 MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS! 💬

Your mind deserves as much care as your body.
It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to say “I’m not fine.”
You’re not weak for feeling tired, anxious, or lost — you’re human. 🌿

Let’s normalize:
💭 Talking about our feelings
🤝 Checking on friends
😌 Taking breaks when overwhelmed

Because healing starts when we stop hiding. ❤️

🩺 Public Health Awareness: Measles–Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign

📢 Attention everyone!
From 18th – 27th of this month, the Measles–Rubella (MR) Vaccine will be administered across all designated health facilities and schools within our area.

This campaign is free, safe, and essential — especially for children aged 9 months to 15 years.

⸻

💉 Why this vaccine matters:

✅ Protects against Measles and Rubella – two highly contagious viral diseases that can cause severe health problems such as blindness, brain damage, pneumonia, and birth defects in unborn babies.
✅ Prevents outbreaks – Vaccination helps stop the spread of these diseases within schools and communities.
✅ Builds herd immunity – The more people vaccinated, the safer everyone becomes.

⸻

⚠️ What happens if not vaccinated:

🚫 Increased risk of severe illness and death from measles complications.
🚫 Possible long-term disabilities such as deafness, brain damage, and developmental delay.
🚫 Pregnant women infected with rubella risk miscarriage or babies born with serious defects (Congenital Rubella Syndrome).

⸻

👩‍⚕️ Let’s protect our future generation!

Parents, teachers, and community leaders — please make sure every eligible child gets vaccinated between 18th–27th.

🗓️ Don’t wait — one shot can save a lifetime.
