120 days of self-love đź’š Love yourself into hormonal balance

Many women don’t realize that when you’re on the pill, you don’t experience your natural menstrual cycle.

It created a real sense of disconnection from my body and came with some pretty awful side effects.

What’s your experience? I’d love to hear your perspective. 💚

When your body is full of tension and you need to release it, these simple gestures towards yourself can make a huge difference.

Movement. Breath. Self-love.

Come home to yourself. đź’š

My 20s were all about trying to belong and proving myself.

My 30s were all about searching for myself.

My 40s are finally about trusting the moment and coming home to myself.

Yes, it took courage to choose myself first, but it’s starting to feel like it’s really paying off.

Where are you on your journey?

What’s the wisdom of your current decade? 💚

I think a big part of self-love is to give yourself permission to do life your way. Not the expectations, not the should’s, not the conditioning. Make up your own rules, based on what feels good.

What is one thing that may seem unhinged for others, but it works perfectly for you?

Unmasking starts with feeling safe. 🤍

For the days when you need a gentle reminder that all of you is welcome. 🤍

Am I the only one, who felt this way?

Many of us were never taught how to understand our own bodies.

We learned about periods as something to hide, manage, or simply “get through”… but rarely as a powerful part of being a woman.

So when our daughters enter this phase of life, it can bring up a lot:
✨ “Do I know enough?”
✨ “How do I guide her?”
✨ “What if I get it wrong?”

But maybe your daughter doesn’t need a perfect guide.

Maybe she needs a mother who is willing to be curious.
A mother who can say:
“I wasn’t taught this either, but I want to learn together.”

Because sometimes, the moments where we guide our children become the moments where we heal our younger selves too.

We get to rewrite the story.

And what a beautiful gift to walk this journey together. 🤍

If you’re navigating hormones, cycles, or the transition into perimenopause while raising the next generation of women, you’re not alone.

Follow for more conversations about hormones, self-acceptance, and coming home to your body.

During your luteal phase, plummeting estrogen and unstable progesterone throw your brain off balance. Estrogen usually keeps your prefrontal cortex (rational brain) sharp and your amygdala (emotion center) calm. But when it drops, your amygdala goes into overdrive, scanning for threats, while your prefrontal cortex struggles to hit the brakes.

If progesterone levels are low or unstable, you can’t fully enjoy its calming effects - because yes, Mother Nature is wise, and she didn’t design us to spiral into desperation for days every month. But chronic stress throws the whole system out of balance.

PMS symptoms are inviting us to check in: Where am I out of balance?
