🌠 The Perseids are back!

On the night of August 12–13, the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak. Our ANNA's are tucked away in the forest, lights off, keeping light pollution to a minimum, just pure dark sky and stars above.

Find a clear, dark spot of your own, give your eyes 20 minutes to adjust, and just look up. No telescope needed.

..An acorn does not fall far from the tree and cannot grow into a new oak in the shade beneath its own canopy. Quercus therefore relies on animals to carry its acorns further afield. Squirrels bury stocks of acorns to see them through winter. If a squirrel dies, forgets, or never returns to its cache, those acorns find themselves in the perfect spot to germinate. It will come as no surprise, then, that the Holenberg forest is home to many squirrels. 🐿 🌰
