Every year we hear the same questions.

Isn’t India overwhelming?

Is it safe?

Isn’t it chaotic?

I understand those questions, because years ago I asked many of them myself.

Then India slowly introduced herself.

Through the people who welcomed me into their homes, shared meals with us, smiled at strangers, helped without expecting anything in return, and showed me a depth of hospitality that continues to humble me every time we return.

India isn’t always predictable.
In fact, it rarely is.

Plans change.
Trains are late.
Cows may decide they own the road.

But somewhere in that beautiful unpredictability, something inside begins to soften.

Yoga stops being something you practise for an hour.

It becomes the way you meet each moment.

That is why these retreats mean so much to us.

My husband grew up here.
I came here from the Netherlands.

Together we’ve learned how beautiful it is when two cultures don’t stand opposite one another, but meet with curiosity, respect and love.

That is exactly what we hope to offer you.

Not simply a yoga retreat.

But an invitation to experience India through the eyes of people who deeply love her.

From ancient mountain trails and hidden temples in Maharashtra…

to the quiet simplicity of the southern beaches of Goa…

we’d love to welcome you there.

Maybe India has been calling you too.

There are moments when advice feels like too much.

Know that you don’t need to fix anything.
You don’t need to “get back on track.”

Sometimes your body simply needs to feel held.

This gentle rocking movement has become one of those practices I return to, again and again. By wrapping the arms around the legs and slowly swaying from side to side, a sense of containment is created. A quiet reminder to the nervous system that, in this moment, you are safe enough to soften.

It may look incredibly simple.
But yoga has never been about doing more. It’s about listening more deeply.

So if today feels overwhelming, restless, uncertain or heavy…
Try this for a few minutes.

Breathe naturally.
Move slowly.
Let the movement become smaller if that’s what your body asks for.

A gentle invitation to create the conditions where calm can find you.

♡ Save this for the moments you need it most.
And perhaps send it to someone who could use a little gentleness today ♡

One of the biggest misconceptions about teaching is that you somehow stop needing the practice.

As if becoming a teacher means you’ve arrived.

But the longer I walk this path, the more I realise that the opposite is true.

Every class I teach reminds me to return.
Every conversation invites me to listen more deeply.
Every challenge reveals another place where the teachings are asking something of me.

I don’t see teaching as standing in front of others because I’ve figured life out.

I see it as walking alongside others while continuing to be shaped by the same practice.

Maybe that’s what keeps the teachings alive.

A willingness to keep exploring, learning, questioning, and letting the practice meet us exactly where we are.

I’m curious…

Have you ever felt like you needed to have everything figured out before you were “allowed” to guide others?

We often think yoga happens on a mat.

In a studio.
During a retreat.
In a beautifully shaped posture.

And certainly, the physical practice can be a powerful doorway.

But yoga was never meant to end when class ends.

I sometimes watch people move through a yoga practice with great attention and care, only to lose that same awareness moments later.

The class is over.

Someone says something unexpected.
A plan changes.
A bicycle cuts them off.
A feeling arises.

And immediately the mind rushes in with judgement, resistance, frustration or fear.

And this is where the deeper practice begins.

Yoga invites us to become aware of the patterns that shape our experience.

The stories we tell ourselves.
The reactions we repeat.
The ways we contract when life doesn’t unfold according to our preferences.

Can irritation become curiosity?
Can judgement become understanding?
Can resistance soften into presence?

The ancient teachings of yoga were never concerned with flexibility of the body.

They were concerned with freedom.

Freedom from being unconsciously pulled around by every thought, emotion and circumstance.

The mat can help us practise.

Life is where we embody it.

On International Yoga Day, perhaps the question is not:

“Did I practise 108 surya namaskars today?”

But:

“How did I meet my life today?”
