INNER CONCH vs OUTER CONCH - what’s the difference?
A conch isn’t always just… a conch 😅
Depending on where the piercing is placed, we can be talking about an inner conch or an outer conch and even though they may look quite similar, the placement and jewelry options can be very different.
✨ INNER CONCH
This one sits in the deeper, bowl-shaped part of the ear, closer to the ear canal.
It’s more versatile when it comes to anatomy and gives us plenty of jewelry options - from a classic stud to a hoop or even an orbital once fully healed.
✨ OUTER CONCH
This piercing sits higher up, on the flatter part of the cartilage, between the helix and antihelix.
Here, your anatomy plays a bigger role, and the jewelry options can be a little more limited.
And that’s exactly why placement matters so much, not only for how your piercing looks, but also for what kind of jewelry you’ll be able to wear in the future. 🖤
Not sure which conch would work best for you? No worries! During your appointment, I’ll check your anatomy and we’ll choose the placement and jewelry that will look great not only now, but also once your piercing is fully healed 🫠
Inner or outer - which one would you choose?
