Have you heard of the the Grand Canyon of the East? I just visited Letchworth State Park, Castile NY. A few years back it was voted as the best state park in the USA. Spent the day hiking up and down the gorge trail to view three magnificent water falls. It is indeed a special place to visit.

Buttermilk Falls State Park - Beautiful beyond my picture taking abilities.
https://parks.ny.gov/parks/buttermilkfalls/details.aspx. Gorge and Rim Trail loop about 1.6 miles. There are a number of steps on one side of the trail -- and an incline walk path if you on the other side of the loop.

Erie Canal State Park - Central New York, Butternut Creek, DeWitt, New York
I am discovering many treasures with my recent relocation to Syracuse, New York.

One unique aspect of living in Syracuse is the Erie Canal Trailway. The canal extends
from Buffalo to Albany, and at the time, it was the grandest work project in North
America [1817 to 1825].

We live very close to the Old Erie Canal State Historic Park. We start locally in Dewitt,
where the trail extends to Rome, NY, 36 miles away, on paved or gravel surfaces. It is a multi-purpose trail.

So far, we walked only 2 miles from Butternut Dr to Burdick Rd. This summer, we plan to cycle to Rome. In addition to walking, jogging, cycling, and kayaking, this trail is off road and safe. The Erie Canal Trail is not only part of history, but also a true local treasure.

Work travel day for work. This is a round trip walk of the B Terminal at Denver airport. Perhaps I could have been a bit faster if it were not for dodging all of my fellow passengers. Super crowded terminal.
More walking for me! Not hiking - but getting the steps in
