Senior Padiatrict Cardiologist Dr. Anish Joshi:

Nepal Heart Foundation Kavre extends its best wishes to Senior Pediatric Cardiologist Dr. Anish Joshi, Project Coordinator of Nepal Heart Foundation Kavre, and Cardiologist Dr. Nishan Bhattarai of Dhulikhel Hospital, who recently visited China at the invitation of the Chinese Society of Echocardiography to attend the National Cardiology Conference.

This invitation followed the successful collaboration between Nepal and China in organizing Nepal’s First National Echocardiography Conference and a child heart screening camp in a remote region of Nepal. During their visit, they received a warm welcome and were recognized for their valuable contribution to the health camp and collaborative cardiovascular initiatives.

The team also had the opportunity to visit Zhongshan Hospital, Shanghai, one of China’s leading cardiovascular centers, where they exchanged knowledge and experiences with international experts.

We are proud that Dr. Joshi and Dr. Bhattarai shared insights on rheumatic heart disease, non-communicable diseases, and the cardiovascular health situation in Nepal at this important scientific gathering. Dr. Anish Joshi, who also serves as President of the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel, continues to make significant contributions to both healthcare and community service.

The knowledge, experience, and professional networks gained through this visit will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening cardiovascular care and reducing the burden of heart disease in Nepal.

Nepal Heart Foundation Kavre District successfully formed its Unit Office in Namobuddha Municipality under the coordination of Mr. Ram Hari Acharya. The committee formation program was facilitated by NHF Kavre Chairman Mr. Tika Bhakta Bhochhibhoya, Vice Chairman Mr. Grouben Taujale, Mr. Sidhi Bahadur Karmacharya , Immediate Past Chairman and NHF Executive Member Mr. Ashok Shrestha, along with the NHF Kavre Secretary Mr. Harisaran Shrestha. During the program, discussions were held regarding the Nepal Heart Foundation’s “Healthy Heart Living Campaign” and its community outreach initiatives.
With the formation of the Namobuddha Unit, Nepal Heart Foundation Kavre now has a total of eight unit offices with 866 active members dedicated to promoting healthy heart communities and improving public awareness on cardiovascular health.
Major activities of Nepal Heart Foundation Kavre include:
Raising awareness on heart health at community and school levels.
Conducting heart health camps in different communities.
Organizing rheumatic heart disease screening and treatment camps in schools.
Celebrating World Heart Day through public awareness campaigns and educational activities.
Building partnerships with schools, social organizations, yoga centers, and financial institutions for collaborative health promotion.
Providing healthy heart information materials, awareness displays, and yoga teaching programs.
Conducting “Go Red for Women” campaigns focusing on women’s heart health awareness.
Organizing healthy heart food cooking training for women, school canteen staff, restaurant staff, and households.
Raising awareness against trans-fat food consumption and unhealthy dietary habits.
Promoting “No Smoking, No Alcohol, No Drugs” community movements for healthier lifestyles.
Maintaining close coordination with cardiologists, hospitals, and healthcare professionals to strengthen preventive and treatment services.
Nepal Heart Foundation Kavre remains committed to building healthier communities through awareness, prevention, early diagnosis, and healthy lifestyle promotion for all citizens.
