We talk a lot about what changes in our 40s.

Sleep.

Energy.

Weight.

Brain fog.

Hormones.

And those things matter.

But I don’t want that to be the whole conversation.

I also want us thinking about what we’re building.

Strength.

Muscle.

Energy.

Mobility.

The ability to keep doing the things we enjoy as we get older.

Because looking after your health now isn’t only about feeling better today.

It’s also about asking:

What do I want my health to make possible?

Maybe you want to travel.

Walk up hills.

Keep playing sport.

Get down on the floor and back up easily.

Have the energy to say yes to things you enjoy.

Your answer will be personal.

And I think that’s a much more useful conversation than only focusing on what’s going wrong.

What do you want your health to make possible as you get older?

We spend so much of life being different things to different people.

Mum. Partner. Daughter. Friend. Colleague. The one remembering appointments, what’s for dinner, what the kids need and whether there’s actually any milk left.

Somewhere amongst all of that, it can be easy to lose sight of ourselves.

I’ve been thinking about this lately as I’ve looked back at my own story and the experiences that have shaped me.

Because health isn’t only about what we eat or how much we exercise.

It’s also about knowing ourselves. What matters to us. What drains us. What makes us feel good. And what we need at this stage of life.

So a little question for your Sunday:

When do you feel most like yourself?

I’d love to know.

I’ve been sharing a little more of myself lately too. Not just what I do, but some of what has shaped me and the way I support women today.

And if you’d like to get to know a little more about me, my story and what led me to the work I do today, I’ve shared more here: https://www.wellnesswithchia.com/About-me

For a long time, I didn’t really think my story was important to share.

It was just my life. The things I’d experienced, the choices I’d made and the different stages I’d moved through.

But recently, I found myself looking back and realising how much those experiences have shaped me, and the work I do today.

Growing up between two cultures. Wanting to work hard and make people proud. Becoming a mum. Starting to question what health actually meant. And going through experiences of my own that made me question things even more.

None of it happened in a straight line.

But looking back, I can see how it all connects.

I think that’s part of why I care so much about understanding the woman behind what she’s experiencing, rather than only looking at her symptoms or telling her what she should be doing.

There’s usually more going on.

I’ve shared more of my story on my website. A little more about the person behind the practitioner and coach, and the experiences that have shaped the way I work today.

GLP-1 medications can change the way food feels very quickly.

You may feel full after just a few bites.

You may forget to eat because you are not hungry.

Or you may get to the end of the day and realise you have eaten much less than usual.

For many women, that can feel like the medication is doing what it is meant to do.

But there is another part of the conversation that often gets missed.

Eating less does not always mean your body is getting what it needs.

Your body still needs protein to support muscle.

It still needs fibre and fluids to support digestion.

It still needs vitamins and minerals to support your energy and overall health.

This does not mean forcing yourself to eat large meals or following another perfect plan.

It means understanding what matters most and finding simple ways to make the food you can manage count.

I created Nourishing Your Body on GLP-1 Medications to help with that.

Inside, you will find simple guidance around protein, fibre, hydration, vitamins and minerals, maintaining muscle, common digestive side effects and easy nourishing recipes.

Comment NOURISH and I’ll send you the guide.

Some evenings I really cannot be bothered making dinner.

I’ve finished training late, the day has been long and suddenly making a proper meal feels like a much bigger job than it actually is.

Please tell me I’m not the only one 😂

Those are the nights when having a few easy options makes all the difference.
This is one of mine.

It’s an evening smoothie with protein, cherries, pumpkin seeds, almonds, ginger and herbal tea. It takes a few minutes, tastes good and gives me something nourishing without requiring pots, pans or much enthusiasm.

Because I’m all for eating well. I’m also very realistic about how much energy we have left at the end of some days.

It doesn’t need to be a perfect dinner.

Sometimes you just need something simple that does the job.

Simple. Functional. Realistic for real life.

Want the recipe? Comment RECIPE and I’ll send it to you.
