Studying and practicing how light reveals form through an art course I’m currently working on 🤔

I think about this a lot in cosmetic medicine. Small shifts in shadow can change how rested or balanced someone appears — and often help guide what, if anything, needs to change.

I’m so excited (and a little surprised) to share that my portrait of my son Harlu has been selected as a finalist in the New Zealand Adam Portraiture Award 2026.
It is really special to see it included alongside the work of so many talented artists 🥰 The exhibition will be on show in Wellington at the New Zealand Portrait Gallery between 21 May and 9 August.
