🇼🇸 Happy Samoan Language Week | Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa 🇼🇸

BreastScreen Auckland Central is proud to celebrate Samoan Language Week and acknowledge the rich culture, language, values, and contributions of the Samoan community across Aotearoa New Zealand.

This year's celebration is a wonderful opportunity to honour the Samoan language and the strength of aiga, community, and connection — values that are also at the heart of health and wellbeing.

We are grateful for the many Samoan women, families, churches, community leaders, and organisations who continue to support and encourage breast screening within their communities.

By having regular breast screening, women are taking an important step towards protecting their health, their families, and their future.

Fa'afetai tele lava to our Samoan communities for your ongoing partnership, trust, and support.

💙 Honoured to be part of the Telangana Formation Day Celebrations 2026 💙

BreastScreen Auckland Central was honoured to be invited to this special community celebration and to have the opportunity to speak with attendees about the importance of breast screening and early detection.

It was wonderful connecting with members of the community, answering questions, sharing information, and encouraging women to prioritise their health.

A heartfelt thank you to the organisers for welcoming us and providing a platform to raise awareness about breast screening. Community events like these help start important conversations that can lead to life-saving action.

Because sometimes one conversation can lead to one appointment — and that appointment could save a life. 💙

💗 Pink, purpose, and powerful conversations 💗

Today, BreastScreen Auckland Central had the privilege of being part of two Pink Ribbon Breakfast events — one with KPMG New Zealand and another with Onehunga Business Association / Toi Whānau Health — bringing people together in support of breast cancer awareness and early detection.

Our own Ritu Choudhary and Mary Anipot were honoured to speak, sharing the importance of breast screening and engaging in meaningful conversations with attendees.

From thoughtful presentations, good food, pink outfits everywhere, giveaways, laughter, and heartfelt connections — the day was a beautiful reminder that awareness events are about so much more than gathering together.

They create space for:
💗 Conversations
💗 Learning
💗 Connection
💗 Support
💗 Life-saving awareness

We are grateful for the opportunity to share, answer questions, and be part of these meaningful kaupapa alongside so many passionate people dressed in pink for a cause that matters.

A heartfelt thank you to KPMG New Zealand, Onehunga Business Association, Toi Whānau Health, and Onehunga Community News for having us and for creating such special events in support of breast cancer awareness.

Because sometimes a conversation can lead to an appointment… and that appointment can save a life 💗

A beautiful morning at the Mother’s Day Pink Breakfast hosted by PACIFICA Auckland Central Branch at Novotel Ellerslie 💗

So special to see so many amazing wāhine dressed in pink, coming together to celebrate, connect, and support women’s health awareness.

We were honoured to speak about the importance of breast screening, the services we provide at BreastScreen Auckland Central, and how our mobile unit helps bring screening closer to communities.

Events like this remind me how powerful community spaces are in creating conversations, awareness, and encouragement around early detection and prevention.

A heartfelt thank you to the organisers for the warm hospitality and for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful event ✨
