These are the 5 most common mistakes I see people making when it comes it IBS, in clinic 🙅‍♀️

1. Stop over complicating it and get the basics right.

Sorry guys, the basics aren't sexy BUT THEY WORK! Eat at least 3 meals daily, sleep 8 hours, drink 2L water, move your body daily and look after your mental health. It's all the stuff we know, but are you doing it?

2. You've cut out too many foods.

Cutting out too many foods, starves your microbiome, creates more stress and puts you at risk of nutritional deficiency, low energy and only creates more problems. ALWAYS speak with a dietitian first before cutting out foods because this can easily become a visious cycle and worsen your symptoms.

3. You're ignoring stress.

IBS is a gut-brain disorder and often one of the root causes for IBS. If you don't work on the gut-brain axis, chances are you won't get the results with your gut health that you're after.

4. You're relying on supplements to fix your gut.

Some supplements are worth while but they should be used in conjunction with other therapies to manage your IBS and optimise your gut health.

5. You're trying to do it yourself without guidance from a professional.

The internet and social media is FULL of information. Some good, but alot of the information is false, confusing or misleading and certainly not personalised for each individual case.

Stop prolonging your misery. Save your time, stress and money and see a dietitian from the get go!

✨ Hi, I’m Bianca, your Gut Health Dietitian ✨

I thought I’d take a moment to properly introduce myself…

I’m Bianca, Dietitian here at The Gut Health Clinic. I’m based in Auckland, New Zealand, but thanks to virtual consults, I get to support clients all over the country (and beyond!) on their gut health journey.

I’m a huge foodie at heart. When I’m not talking all things digestion, you’ll probably find me on a beach walk, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, or out for a coffee date with my girls.

I’ve spent the past 7 years specialising in gut health, and through both my clinical work and my own firsthand experience, I truly understand how frustrating, isolating, and overwhelming gut symptoms can feel.

My goal when working with you?

⭐️ To understand your individual concerns and create a plan that fits your lifestyle
⭐️ To use evidence-based, personalised strategies that actually work
