My Health Hub My Health Hub is brought to you by Mobile Health. Presenters are highly qualified and experienced nurses, doctors or other health professionals.

My Health Hub provides regular online education sessions intended for nurses, GPs and other health providers working in primary care, secondary care, residential care and community settings. Health professionals are busier than ever at both work and home, so for many, especially those in rural and remote areas, it can be challenging to access relevant continuing professional development. Their specialty areas cover the full spectrum of rural healthcare including topics such as acute and chronic medicine, mental health, womenโ€™s health and emergency care. Sessions are delivered in a range of formats including both webinars and CPD sessions. Many sessions are also recorded for later viewing.

RESCyou brings high-level, hands-on emergency training directly to rural communities, tailored to local teams, needs and resources. For more than a decade, it has been helping rural clinicians prepare for the moments when every decision matters and specialist support is hours away.

And the impact is real. Clinicians have reported using their RESCyou training to save lives in remote hospitals, manage severe asthma when retrieval was impossible, and introduce new protocols for burns and agitation management.

Weโ€™re thrilled to win, but even prouder of what this award represents: stronger rural emergency capability, more confident local clinicians and better access to emergency care for rural communities.

For two decades, My Health Hub has supported health professionals across Aotearoa with nearly 159,000 hours of learning, helping build skills, confidence, and better outcomes for patients, whฤnau, and communities.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of what this programme has achieved, and we continue to be inspired by the thousands of health professionals who have invested in their own growth so they can better serve others. From remote communities to busy rural clinics, you have joined webinars, attended workshops, and shared knowledge with a common goal: delivering the best possible care.

Behind every learning opportunity is the potential to improve a patient experience, strengthen a clinical service, or make a positive difference in someone's health journey. That's why My Health Hub exists and why, after 20 years and nearly 159,000 hours of learning, we're still as committed as ever to supporting the people who care for our communities.

Thank you to the health professionals, presenters, partner organisations, Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, and the My Health Hub team who have helped make My Health Hub what it is today. The impact of this programme extends far beyond the learning itself, reaching patients, whฤnau, and communities across Aotearoa every day.

Paediatric sepsis can be difficult to recognise, particularly in its early stages, yet early identification and treatment are critical to improving outcomes. Globally, sepsis contributes to an estimated 4.2 million child deaths each year. In New Zealand, it remains one of the leading causes of childhood mortality.

This webinar will provide an update on paediatric sepsis assessment and management, including the recently introduced paediatric sepsis pathway for use across primary and secondary care.

We are absolutely thrilled to see Dr Peter Freeman named the recipient of the Peter Snow Memorial Award. Presented to him at the recent at the 21st WONCA World Rural Health Conference New Zealand held in Wellington, his nomination recognises his founding leadership of the RESCyou โ€“ Rural Emergency Skills Course, and his quiet dedication behind the scenes to craft a bespoke training environment tailored specifically for rural clinicians.

The RESCyou โ€“ Rural Emergency Skills Course is an innovative programme that brings high-level emergency training directly to rural doorsteps, offering a hands-on course that empower local clinicians. Peter has invested countless hours into the development and refinement of this programme, ensuring it remains world-class and deeply impactful to all who participate.

For more than a decade, with the rest of the RESCyou team, Peter has delivered 12 courses in 10 rural towns, trained 162 rural clinicians (and counting) and providing 1,296 provider-hours of education โ€“ a remarkable contribution given the voluntary nature of their involvement. With an average score of 9.7/10, the feedback is as genuine as it is consistent: 100% of participants report that they now feel ready and capable of performing life-saving emergency skills in high-pressure situations.

But the numbers only tell half the story. The true value lies in the profound sense of empowerment the clinicians carry back to their communities. For a clinician working in a remote area, that shift from uncertainty to confidence is everything. The programme doesnโ€™t just provide data; itโ€™s a leading training ground ensuring rural clinicians no longer just 'cope' with emergencies but lead through them with the skill and confidence their communities deserve.

โ€œPeter is one of those rare clinicians whose technical excellence is matched only by his humility...โ€

โ€œHis passion for improving care in rural areas is not theoretical; it is lived. He brings a clinicianโ€™s insight, an educatorโ€™s skill, and a rural advocateโ€™s determination to every course. The impact is clear: RESCYou consistently strengthens clinical capability, builds con๏ฌdence, and improves outcomes for our rural whฤnau and communities. Many clinicians across Aotearoa attribute their preparedness in emergencies directly to the skills gained through Peterโ€™s teaching.โ€ โ€“ ๐ƒ๐ซ ๐‘๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐‹๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ž

โ€œThanks must go to Mark Eager from Mobile Heath for his vision and support of the Rural skills course. The team have travelled the length of the country from Gore to Kaitaia and soon Great Barrier.โ€

โ€œCritical to the delivery of customised skills training for rural GPs and nurses has been the generous donation of time and equipment from the emergency medicine facultyโ€ฆโ€

โ€œIt has been an absolute pleasure to have brought this course to the rural teams and very rewarding to hear such positive feedback. Thank you for this recognition - it means a lot.โ€ โ€“ ๐ƒ๐ซ ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ง

Please join us in celebrating Peter for this remarkable achievement โ€“ a truly fitting tribute to his continued dedication and his unwavering advocacy for our rural heartland.

โ€˜Itโ€™s all them, them, themโ€™ isnโ€™t a phrase youโ€™d usually hear. But putting rural needs first in Te Anau made for a special weekend. Our โ€˜RESCyou โ€“ Rural Emergency Skills to youโ€™ FACEM tutors, and all the associated resources and gear, converged in Te Anau last Saturday to provide training to local GPs and Nurses in their own clinical setting.

After a night of rolling thunderstorms, the local team refreshed their skills and knowledge on topics they chose of importance to them. They practiced many skills including intraosseous and guided ultrasound injections โ€“ see image below - and how to treat respiratory distress, drowning, and hypothermia.
