Mobile PET-CT service concludes after improving access to cancer imaging for thousands of New Zealanders

For the past two years, Mobile Imaging - New Zealand's first mobile PET-CT service has brought advanced cancer imaging closer to home for people living in regional communities. With permanent PET-CT facilities now established or expanding across the regions we have served, the mobile service will conclude in September 2026.

We're incredibly proud of what this service has achieved in partnership with Allevia Radiology, Health NZ, host sites, clinicians and communities around the country. Thank you to everyone who helped make this innovative service possible.

Last week, our mobile imaging unit got its new Allevia Radiology logo (formerly Mercy Radiology) while visiting our Christchurch office, before heading off to Ropata Health in Lower Hutt.

It’s more than a logo refresh; it’s a symbol of our partnership with Allevia Radiology, and our commitment to delivering advanced imaging services for patients closer to home.
