This is an extremely vulnerable post for me: Challenge results 💙
I lost 4.5kg 💪
At first I thought, “it’s only 4.5kg”. But then I stopped and put that into perspective….. it’s actually a pretty heavy dumbbell to have been carrying around, all day every day!
To the women who are juggling it all, I hope you can see the positives in this post.
This wasn’t achieved by saying no to every social event or living off chicken and broccoli.
We still had our Tuesday fish and chips with the kids, I enjoyed dinners with my husband, wine with friends, and cake on my birthday 🎈
The difference this time, was not having a “bugger it, I might as well give up” moment. They weren’t failures, they were real life.
I simply thought, enjoy the moment, then get back to it.
A few days off training? No stress, just got back into it.
A busy week? Got my steps and did what I could.
A celebration? Enjoyed it and moved on ☺️
This is something I’ve found I can actually SUSTAIN!!!! Not just for 8 weeks, but for the foreseeable.
The challenge is over, but I’ve prepped my breakfast, lunches and snacks for a few days. I’ve still been focusing on my steps and training, and have zero plans to stop now!
Also, a reminder for the photos.
That “before” photo, the one I’m super embarrassed about, had over 30kg of muscle under it, above what is “normal”.
So don’t go judging books by their covers.
No matter what someone looks like, they can still be strong, capable and move well.
Today I ran for the first time in a while (weirdly nervous about it 🤷♀️), and my legs felt stronger, breathing felt easier, and it felt so much more comfortable than it has for a long time.
If this challenge has taught me one thing, it’s that slow and steady can win the race.
So to all the women who follow me that are juggling real life, work, family, relationships, social events, and everything life throws at you……if you’re doing your best, you’re already further ahead than you think.
You don’t have to be perfect, you just need to keep showing up and coming back to the habits that support you on your journey.
Because the small things really do add up 💙
Speech over 😂
