🎉 Hip, hip hooray — there’s joy in every day! 💃😊✨

Have you ever noticed how a good dance can lift your mood, free your body, and leave you feeling more like yourself?

Why do babies wriggle, wiggle, and move with such delight? Why does dancing bring laughter, connection, and a sense of wellbeing?

At True Axis, we see a fascinating relationship between the hips and the head.

The ilium (hip bone) mirrors the shape of the temporal bone in the skull. Through the body’s connective tissues and membranes, these structures share an important relationship. When tension, imbalance, or impact affects one area, it can influence the other.

This connection begins early in embryological development. As the body forms, the structures that become the mouth and the pelvic outlets develop in relationship to one another, with the spine growing between them. From this early stage, the head, spine, sacrum, and pelvis remain intimately connected.

The sacrum sits at the base of the spine and plays a vital role in balance, movement, and our awareness of where we are in relation to gravity.

When stress, physical impacts, or long-held tensions create uneven pressure through the pelvis and ilium, this can influence the sacrum and the structures connected all the way up to the skull. Over time, this may contribute to discomfort, restricted movement, headaches, and a reduced sense of wellbeing.

We believe every bone tells a story.

The ilium is often associated with our sense of joy, personal power, adaptability, and openness to life’s changes.

The temporal bone is closely linked to our hearing, perception, emotional sensitivity, and how we process both the world around us and our inner experience.

Like mirror images, these bones support one another. When one is under strain, the effects can often be seen elsewhere in the body.

That’s why at True Axis we don’t just look at sore hips or a painful head in isolation. We look for the underlying patterns of imbalance and work to restore harmony throughout the system.

Because we’re big believers in dancing the night away… and waking up feeling great the next day! 😁💃✨
