At our heart, we are passionate practitioners of Rongoā Māori, the traditional healing practices of Aotearoa, and we invite you to join us on a transformative journey back to te taiao. We host weekend retreats nestled deep within the ngahere, where you can immerse yourself in the wisdom of our tīpuna and reconnect with the healing power of the natural world.

Our retreats are designed to guide you in learning the ancient practices of Rongoā Māori, offering a space to learn, heal, reflect, and grow. If you’re a beginner, we share mātauranga passed down through generations, giving you the tools to nurture both body and spirit. Each retreat blends teachings on tikanga, plant identification, Māori spiritual practices, and mindfulness within the peaceful embrace of the ngahere. Through hands-on experiences, you'll gain insights into how rongoā Māori can support your overall hauora, all while honouring the sacred balance between people and whenua. We offer this space to those seeking basic understanding, healing, and a deeper connection to the world around them. Te Ara Rongoā is evolving!

With deep gratitude, we acknowledge all those who have walked alongside this kaupapa — those who have supported, contributed, trusted, and shared in this space. Your aroha and presence have helped shape Te Ara Rongoā into what it is today.

As this next chapter unfolds, Te Ara Rongoā transitions into Āwhina — with a shift toward more clinic-focused mahi. While wānanga will still be offered, our clinic space will now become the primary place of healing.

We're looking forward to this natural progression, and we're excited to share it with you.
