Maybe you started exercising because you wanted to lose weight, change your body composition, build your glutes or look better in your clothes. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
But what are you going to rely on when your weight plateaus or the physical changes become harder to see? Because eventually, they will.
This is where I want you to understand what training is doing INSIDE your body.
Build muscle because it is one of your biggest sites for glucose disposal, helping protect insulin sensitivity as you move through perimenopause and menopause, when declining estrogen can make abdominal fat gain and metabolic dysfunction easier to develop.
Train because resistance exercise protects muscle and bone density as you age. Move because exercise supports cardiovascular health, blood pressure, circulation, lymphatic flow, gut motility and bowel regularity.
Exercise because it supports healthy inflammation and immune regulation, mitochondrial function, energy production, sleep, stress regulation, brain health, cognition and mental wellbeing.
And yes, train because you want strong legs, defined arms or a great bum too 😂 But understand that every session is doing SO much more than changing what you see in the mirror.
You’re building metabolic resilience for menopause, stronger bones for your 60s, muscle for your 70s and cardiovascular and brain health for your future.
This is exactly why personalised exercise programming is part of my 1:1 coaching at InHer Health Clinic. Your training isn’t separate from the work we do on your nutrition, hormones, gut health, metabolism and body composition. It’s programmed to complement it.
If you want your nutrition, training and health strategy built around YOU, come and work with me at InHer Health Clinic.
Looking good might get you through the gym door, but understanding what you’re protecting might keep you walking through it for life 🤌🏽🤌🏽
