We're delighted to introduce the first of our Fabulous & Feeling It 2026 speakers, Marianne from Align & Uplift.

Marianne is a physiotherapist who specialises in women's posture, bra fit, and bra education. As the first PostureFitting (https://www.posturefittingphysio.com/for-physios) partner in Aotearoa New Zealand, she is passionate about helping women understand the important relationship between posture, comfort, confidence, and the bras they wear every day.

With a warm and practical approach, Marianne empowers women to make informed decisions about their bras and better understand how proper support can influence everything from posture and movement to comfort and wellbeing.

Many women spend years wearing the wrong bra size without realising the impact it may be having. Marianne's session will provide valuable insights, practical tips, and plenty of those "I never knew that!" moments.

This would have to be my favourite go-to lunch or brunch.

2 eggs (or 3 if it’s brunch), 1/2 cup cottage cheese, a 2 handfuls of spinach, ham and tomatoes if I have them.

If you haven’t tried scrambling eggs with cottage cheese you are missing out. So much better than plain old eggs and it bumps up the protein to 30grams which will fill you up for longer.

You could also make this into a frittata and take it to work for lunch.

Sunday mornings have a different feel, don't they?

A slower start, a coffee in hand, maybe a walk, a workout, or simply a chance to catch your breath before another busy week begins.

One of the things I love most about Fabulous & Feeling It is that it gives women permission to do exactly that for an entire day.

Great to get along to Flex & Flow last night and support Jayde with her recently opened fitness studio.

It’s an awesome space, with strength, Pilates, fusion and HIIT classes all under the one roof. Invercargill is lucky to have another great option for people wanting to move their bodies and improve their health.

And if you’re around my age, you’ll probably remember those freezing Saturday mornings playing netball at the courts next door!

One thing I would encourage people to look for when choosing a nutritionist is whether they are registered.

It’s not something everyone knows to ask, but it does matter.

Being registered means we are held to professional standards and are required to stay up to date with current scientific evidence, ongoing research, and changes within the nutrition field. It also means we complete continued professional education every year to maintain our registration. https://nutritionists.org.nz/

I’ve just completed this year’s professional education requirements and chose to continue upskilling in women’s nutrition via HPN presented by Clare Badenhorst and Mikki Williden via HPN. They are both people I really look up to and are well respected in their fields.

Nutrition science is constantly evolving, especially in areas like women’s health, perimenopause, metabolic health, and behaviour change. What we thought was best practice 10 years ago is not always what we know today.

That’s why ongoing education matters.

When you work with a registered practitioner, you are choosing someone who is committed to keeping their knowledge current, working within professional standards, and continuing to learn so they can provide the best possible support to clients.

Is your protein bar actually that different from a chocolate bar?

As a nutritionist, I'm not here to demonise either. But this is something I think is worth knowing.

A lot of the protein bars we reach for as a healthier option are closer to a chocolate bar than we realise. Similar calories, similar fat content, just with better packaging and a health halo we don't always question.

I buy protein bars myself. They're convenient, they taste good, and they feel like the responsible choice. I prefer to chop mine up into quarters as opposed to eating a whole bar in one go.

But if you're eating them thinking you're doing something great for your health, it's worth reading the nutritional info.

Here's what I actually look for in a protein bar worth eating:

• At least 15g of protein
• Under 5g of sugar
• Calories that don't equal an entire meal
• Doesn't taste like cardboard (non-negotiable)

A chocolate bar as an occasional treat? Totally fine. Just know the difference between a treat and a something masquerading as a healthier option.
