Hospice Mid-Northland

Hospice Mid-Northland Ph 09 407 7799. [email protected] Care and support to those facing a life-limiting illness and to their family/whanau.

Hospice Mid-Northland is an incorporated society registered under the Charities Act 2005 and is partly funded by the Government, with the remainder sourced from donations and fundraising. We cover the area from Towai in the south to Taupo Bay in the north, and coast-to-coast in between, including South Hokianga. In the earlier days, we supported small numbers of families and this has risen to over

220 families annually since 2018. We have four retail stores, please donate to us. Donations can be dropped at the Green Shed @ 464 Kerikeri Road or we can pick up furniture to sell in our Furniture Shop.

HERE FOR HERE.

Money raised here helps people here.

When you shop, donate or support Hospice Mid-Northland, you are helping fund free specialist palliative care for people and whānau across our Mid-North community.

Our Hospice shops are much more than second-hand stores. They are an important part of how our community helps make local Hospice care possible.

So when you donate quality pre-loved goods, find something great in one of our shops, or give your time as a volunteer, you are helping care for people right here at home.

Shop local. Donate local. Support local Hospice care.

🌈 Community support has brought our Hospice gardens to life.

Over the first half of this year, an incredible amount of volunteer mahi and local support has gone into transforming and caring for the gardens here at Hospice Mid-Northland.

Our 18 weekend gardening volunteers contributed more than 490 hours between January and June, alongside the many hours given by our weekday gardening volunteers.

But this work has also been made possible by some fantastic local businesses who have supported the project with donated materials, discounts and practical help.

A huge thank you to:

❤️ Carters Waipapa - discounted timber for our garden edging, with special thanks to Mike and Jordy.

🌱 Cottle Hill Plant Nursery - support with discounted plants for our autumn planting.

🔨 PlaceMakers Kerikeri - discounted timber used to build our new remembrance pergola.

🌳 Mt Pokaka Timber Products - approximately 14 cubic metres of donated post peelings, with special thanks to Hadley Todd and the team.

🌿 Waipapa Landscape Supplies - ongoing discounts on garden supplies and accepting six trailer loads of garden waste free of charge. Thank you Nick and Verena Smith.

🐑 Wool.life - donated wool w**d matting for our 2026 planting programme, with thanks to Gareth Mentzer and the team.

We also want to thank the many local residents who have donated plants, funds, equipment and their own time, including Anthea Barton for donating five fruit trees to our Food Forest and Roy Hill for the long-term use of his trailer and his expertise helping build the pergola.

These gardens give our patients, whānau, visitors, volunteers and staff somewhere peaceful to pause, connect and remember.

To everyone who has helped make them what they are today - thank you. ❤️
