I've started doing something I chose NOT to do for over two years for my ED recovery...

Recently, I've made the choice to change things up...

NOT because it's "in" right now and everyone is doing it. And definitely not because society tells me I have to.

Because it felt safe to… and this is for me, my knees... and my overall health and wellbeing. I'm not changing much... Just little tweaks.

Then last week, my old "yo-yo dieting" thoughts came back. I justified eating something that didn't serve me... and I could see how different things are.

I noticed it and named it for what it was and then did something I would never have dreamt of doing years ago...

Showed myself some compassion. I talked to myself like I would a friend.

It was one moment out of hundreds of moments in an entire week. I didn't need to start over… I was tired and needed to make my next choice one that would support me in moving in the direction I want to go.

You see... there's this common misconception that if we deviate from the path we lose our turn and get sent back START. We have to start the game all over again!

No wonder it used to be so easy to give up. Starting all over from the beginning feels really hard! I'm exhausted thinking about it. F*ck no.

But what if deviating from the path... is actually part of the path?! It's an opportunity - it's information!

Sh*t happens and things turn out differently than we planned. It doesn't mean we have to do life over! It means we adapt and change.

Where are you telling yourself you've screwed up and need to start over... when actually it's just information?

This is a big part of how I coach. Not to give you permission to eat what doesn't serve you... but to help you bring in some compassion and perspective when you do.

And to support you understanding your BODY and BRAIN so you CAN make choices that nourish you instead of punish you.

So, if you're ready for less "What's wrong with me?" and more "I've totally f*cking got this" so you can adapt and change and focus on the things that really matter in your life. I've got limited space for NEW 1:1 clients.

Get in touch to apply for a spot. You're totally f*cking worth it. 😘

Day 691... Sometimes it feels like we're helping ourselves to be more productive when actually we're hindering ourselves. 😘

15/07/2026

Walk & Talk Day 690... proof that consistency doesn't have to be perfect! 😘

When we do things with others we're more likely to do them... And I'd love you to join me! 🫶

In relation to movement, what's something small and easy you want to commit to over the next three months? Some form of movement you love... or movement that makes you feel good while you're doing it (or afterwards).

I started these walk and talks just over two years ago and consistency hasn't meant every day. I still think I've screwed up my numbering - but nevermind! 😅

Consistency has meant "keep going"... change things up when things don't work out or go to plan... and it means to show up, no matter how small.

Progress does not require perfection.

I'm committing to 30 minutes daily for the next three months.

What can you commit to? 🙌💪 I'd love to know in the comments. 😘

And if you'd like a little extra support and accountability...

SHIFT might be your ticket. ❤️‍🔥😘

The older I get, the more I realise...
..our purpose isn't always what we achieve, it's the people we help along the way.

Despite a lot of hardships, I've also been incredibly fortunate over the years.

From influencing my journey from home cook to chef... Sharing compassion, opening doors, answering my endless questions, supporting me with advice, helping me with new opportunities coming through my private chef work, supporting me with events and recipe development for Wellington On a Plate to most recently inviting me onto his Forkin' Good podcast with Kate Fenwick... (PS - thanks for having me Kate)

Simon has always been generous with his time, his knowledge, his support and his belief in people.

It's reminded me just how much one person can change the direction of another's life... often without even realising it.

I sincerely hope I can be that person for others too... whether helping someone feel more comfortable in the kitchen or with their eating... or more confident in themselves.

So, thank you Simon. I really appreciate you.

And for those still reading... Who has quietly believed in you or positively impacted the direction of your life?

If you're new here... or we haven't met officially yet... haere mai, welcome. 💝 It's so fab to have you here.

You know when unexpected things happen in life, or it feels like things are out of control, and it's easier to turn to food and alcohol to soothe the pain?

I totally get it.

And sometimes... nothing has to go wrong.
Sometimes it just feels like you're possessed... you can't stop eating the thing(s) and you feel like "What the h*ll is wrong with me?".

I've been there. 💓 (that's my hug heart)

Here's what I've learned...

💓 Our eating behaviors are rarely just about the food.

💓 It's often not about a lack of willpower or self-control either.

💓 There are so many more things at play...

So it's figuring out what's really going on and listening to what your body, brain and belly really need so you become a more aligned and alive version of yourself and say no to the sh*t that doesn't actually serve you.

😘 That's where I can help. 💓

Let's chat. You're totally f*cking worth it.

I never used to talk about this stuff… I was too ashamed… I thought I was the problem… because I couldn’t “control” myself when, really, that had nothing to do with it.

My relationship with food and my body, like many of you, were shaped by my life challenges and experiences, societal and family influences, neurodivergence, physiology (including various hormones) and more.

The more we talk openly about these things, folks can understand what might really be going on… and that you’re not alone.

Really appreciate Simon Gault and Waste-Ed With Kate for the opportunity to talk about these things openly on their Forkin Good Podcast. Make sure to check it out.

Sometimes the answer isn't trying harder... It's making things easier.

It's easy to blame ourselves when food feels hard.

Turns out making hundreds of food decisions in a day while tired, hungry, maybe even overwhelmed, body systems and hormones out of whack... while trying to "be good" and having the pressure of what we "should do" can make things a whole lot harder than it needs to be.

How could you make things easier for yourself?

Sometimes it even feels hard to do the easier thing... But what's actually harder? Keeping the way things are? Or making tiny changes so you start building confidence and see that with the right support... you've totally f*cking got this! ❤️‍🔥💖💯

Curious about Sunday Shift or 1:1 Coaching? I look forward to hearing from you. 😘

Admission time... something I thought about putting ourselves out there...

I've actually been hiding... in my insta stories. 🫣

There's something important I've been wanting to share and I am worried about the response... Some people will resonate and it may turn some people off completely.

So I've been staying safe avoiding the elephant in the room and staying in my stories because stories disappear after 24 hours... reels don't.

Then I remembered something I teach new health coaches starting up their coaching businesses...
.. staying hidden means the people who may connect with you and want your support might never find you if you don't share.

That actually feels scarier. 😬

So, I'm going to post something a little controversial because I care about the health and wellbeing of you and your loved ones... Tomorrow! 😅🫣 I promise I'm not procrastinating... I've decided to push myself outside my comfort zone... And do a LIVE at 11am!!! Not scripted... completely from the heart.

BUT I do need your help! I need 4 more followers... to hit 1000 so insta will let me do a live.

Can you help me? 🙏💝

Follow or share my Instagram with someone you think may connect with me, my story... or someone who wants to shift their relationship with their body, food... and ultimately themselves so they can feel confident in their skin, capable of doing the things they want to do and clear headed around food.

And... I challenge you... how can you lose the weight of other people's opinions and value your true worth?

😘 Because you're all f*cking worth it!

I'm also a founder and co-founder of two New Zealand based mental health focused organisations.

I'll be honest...

I have a love hate relationship with social media.

Yes...
💗 It connects me with friends and family from overseas.
💗 It grows connections and helps foster partnerships.
💗 It gives me a platform to make a difference in other people's lives... even if in a small way.
💗 And helps clients in need of further support to find me.

And...
🫣 It takes me away from being present and in the moment and doing things that matter.
🫣 It can get me hooked in at night so I don't get a good night sleep.
🫣 It can impact my mental health and wellbeing depending how I'm using it and what accounts I'm following.

What impact does social media have on you?

There is an opportunity in this... What I've learnt... is to use social media on your terms and not allow it to use YOU on its terms. 😘

Sometimes changing a habit can be challenging but with awareness and the support of a behaviour change expert it's always easier.

So, I'd love to support you too step into your ultimate health and self so you can feel confident and capable to do the things that matter to you (or you keep saying you'll do) while being carefree around food and nourishing instead of punishing. Because you're totally f*cking worth it. ❤️‍🔥
