Something has been quietly brewing in the background… and a few clients have already heard me mention it while they’re on the massage table.

I’m currently working through my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, and my intention is to gently bring this into what I already offer — as a natural extension of the bodywork.

Over time I’d love to introduce gentle classes that include breathwork, simple stretching, easy yoga movement, and the use of sound and music to help the body settle, move and soften.

The same principles that guide my massage work — helping the body open, unwind, and support the nervous system — just explored through gentle movement rather than hands-on work.

And just to be clear — you absolutely do not need to be good at yoga!. This is about movement and connection. It's a yoga fusion if you will!

If you’re stiff, creaky, or not sure where your hamstrings even are… then we are in business!

At its heart, yoga simply means connection or unity— learning to listen, soften expectations, and let go of the idea that our bodies need to fit into certain shapes or boxes. It’s about meeting the body where it's at and honouring that without the need for outcomes or achievements.

As part of my training, I am looking at offering some free (with koha for hall hire) community classes during winter while I’m learning and gaining experience — a relaxed space to move, breathe, and gently open the body.

More details will come in time… but I thought I’d share a small glimpse of what’s slowly taking shape in the background. 🌿

Warmly,
Pip

✨ Wellbeing Sessions – A Space for Reconnection ✨

Wellbeing sessions are a gentle, supportive space designed to nurture your holistic wellbeing — mind, body, and energy.

Unlike massage, these sessions are non–hands on, where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore practices that support balance and inner awareness.

This is more than unpacking and talking. It's about reconnection.

Many of us have read the books, listened to the podcasts, watched the videos, and scrolled through endless inspiration online… and yet we can still feel a little disconnected from ourselves. Sometimes what we truly need is not more information, but the space to simply be with ourselves and reconnect on a deeper level.

Through guided breathwork(if this feels right), grounding practices, mindful conversation, and supportive reflection, these sessions are designed to help regulate the nervous system, and bring greater awareness to how you are feeling both physically and emotionally. It is a space where you can simply pause, be heard, and reconnect with what truly matters for you.

Sometimes the most meaningful shifts happen when we are simply given the space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with who we truly are.

In a world that often keeps us distracted, busy, and disconnected, coming home to yourself is a powerful act of self-awareness, healing, and remembrance.

If you feel called to slow down and reconnect, feel free to learn more about booking a Wellbeing Session on the link below or you can contact me directly - 021 557 187.

Nervous System Reset 💫

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, wired, or drained from the weekend or just life in general, I feel you!

My energy has been a bit scattered recently from trying to do too many things. Finding time for stillness and quiet for grounding and bringing things back into balance can sometimes feel impossible or strange when we are used to being on the busy train but it’s so helpful for us.

Here is a reset you could try. Make it your own.

✨ Find a quiet space and give yourself 5–10 minutes.

1. Pause & arrive
Sit or lie down. Let your body soften into the surface beneath you.

2. Slow your breath
Inhale through your nose for 4
Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6
Repeat for a few minutes.

3. Hand to heart + belly
Place one hand on your chest, one on your stomach.
Feel your breath move under your hands.

4. Gentle stimulation
Lightly rub or tap your arms, shoulders, and chest.
(Think soft, soothing touch — like a calming massage)

5. Grounding
Notice 5 things you can see
4 things you can feel
3 things you can hear

6. Finish with stillness
Sit quietly and notice how you feel. No judgement.

Playing some relaxing music can also be nice if sitting in silence feels uncomfortable.

You are safe to slow down. You aren’t wasting time. In fact, it’s essential.

You can save this for when you need a reset 🤍

5 Minutes to Soften Your Hips

If you’ve been sitting, driving, or holding tension in your body, your hip flexors might be calling for a little love.

I have found that the hips are a common area of tension for clients and I also experience tension in my hips so some nice stretches are kind of mandatory these days!

Here are some simple stretches you can try if you are experiencing tight hips.

• Low Lunge Hold (1 min each side)
Step one foot forward, drop the back knee, and gently sink your hips forward. Breathe into the front of the hip.

• Standing Quad Stretch (30 sec each side)
Hold your foot behind you, knees together, and soften through the front of the thigh. Use a chair for balance if you need.

• Figure 4 Stretch (1 min each side)
Cross one ankle over the opposite knee (seated or lying) and gently lean in.

• Gentle Spinal Twist (1 min each side)
Lying on your back, bring one knee in and guide it across your body. Let your shoulders soften as you twist. This is great for getting into the IT band as well.

• Gentle Hip Circles (1 min)
Slow, mindful circles to bring movement and ease into the hips.

Accompany these stretches with a focus on your breathing too.

Listen to the body, don't force anything. Do what feels safe for you.

Simple, gentle things we can do to take care of ourselves 💛

Have a great Tuesday.

Big love

Little Sunday Rituals for Slowing Down, Rest & Grounding + New Balms & Serums.

I absolutely love essential oils. I love how they affect our senses and moods and create a beautiful vibe in your home.

They are an integral part of the oils I use in bodywork sessions too. They carry a multitude of therapeutic properties to ground, uplift and soothe.

Here is a beautiful recipe for a grounding scent to waft through your house & calm the nervous system.

Add water to a diffuser (check appropriate levels) or oil burner then add:
3 drops frankincense
1 drop Myrrh
1 -2 drops Patchouli.

Take care with oil burners to watch the water level as it evaporates, simply top up as needed.

Myrrh is not the cheapest of essential oils, so I only buy a small amount and use sparingly. It is warm, earthy, grounding and simply gorgeous.

Then sit back with a cup of your favourite warm beverage, a good book and relax.

Even if you take 10 minutes out of your day for this, you are creating an intention and practice that sets you up nicely for rest and restoration.

New Body Balms & Serums…

I have been working on two new balm blends that I will be selling very soon (just waiting on the labels)

A Vanilla & Sweet Orange Hand Butter (shea butter, coconut oil, candelilla wax, natural french vanilla fragrance and sweet orange essential oils)

A Restore Muscle Balm (shea butter, sweet almond oil, arnica oil, candelilla wax, frankincense, rosemary, lavender and peppermint essential oils)

A face serum - Love Your Face.
Jojoba Oil, Rosehip Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, vit E (these are for sale right now at Awakino Store)

A foot oil - Love Your Feet.
Sweet Almond Oil, Fractionated Coco Oil, Peppermint, Lavender, Lemon essential oils.
(These are for sale right now at Awakino Store)

All these products are vegan friendly. The balms are made with candelilla wax (plant based) instead of bees wax.

Can't wait to share these with you.

Have a beautiful Sunday
Pip

Friday Soul Nourishment - Staying sane in a chaotic world.

Creating a simple practice to ground and centre yourself can be a really helpful way to navigate difficult and overwhelming times — something you can return to, again and again.

The great thing is, it doesn’t need to be complicated or time-consuming or cost you money. It just needs to feel like you.

This could look like:

A few slow, conscious breaths before your day starts
A gentle prayer or setting an intention
Repeating a calming mantra that softens your mind
Sitting in stillness, even for just a few minutes
Moving your body — stretching, walking, or flowing through yoga
Placing your hands on your heart and reconnecting inward
Taking a break from the news, content overload and anything that is having a negative affect.

Screaming into a pillow can also be really effective for a release!

Some days it might be stillness. Other days it might be movement.
Some days it might feel deeply spiritual. Other days, simply human.

Don’t forget to look around and see the wonderful things. The beauty in you and the beauty that does exist in the world.

The practice isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence and grounding.

Over time, these small moments become a rhythm…
A way of grounding your energy, steadying your thoughts, and returning home to yourself.
