This Pink Ribbon Day, we're doing something close to our hearts. 🎀

1 in 9 New Zealand women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Sadly, nearly 2 die from it every day. Here at Capes Medical Supplies, the majority of our team are wāhine. and this cause has touched many of us personally. So we wanted to do something about it.

Today is dedicated to the incredible nurses who selflessly serve our communities throughout Aotearoa.

Nurses who care for people at home, in the community, and in our hospitals.

Nurses who show up for our elderly, our tamariki, our parents, our grandparents, extended whānau, our neighbours, our colleagues and our friends. Nurses who are there on the hardest days, and the most joyful ones too.

Ngā mihi maioha, nurses. Thank you for giving your time, your energy, and so much of yourselves to serving our communities. 💚🙏

Last week we said goodbye to Joe. 👋

Joe is heading back to the UK with his fiancée Jess, and while we're absolutely thrilled for them both and their exciting plans ahead, we're also really going to miss them.

From day one, Joe brought an energy, positivity and sense of humour to our customer support team that was genuinely infectious — the kind that lifts the whole team without him even realising it. These qualities are rare, and we've been lucky to have him. 💚

A mad sports fan, we couldn't let Joe leave without a little piece of Aotearoa to take with him — a Warriors supporter tee and an All Whites shirt. May he wear them with pride. 😜

Haere rā, Joe — go well, and know the door is always open if Aotearoa ever lures you back. We sure hope it does...

ANZAC Day isn't just a date on the calendar — it's a moment that unites us across Australia and New Zealand. A reminder that the freedoms we enjoy, the communities we've built, and the lives we lead were shaped by the courage and sacrifice of those who came before us.

Their legacy isn't only found in the past — it's a call to how we show up today. To choose collaboration over division, to build bridges across borders and industries, and to work together toward a future worthy of their sacrifice.

As we gather at dawn services, stand in moments of silence, or simply pause in quiet reflection, let's carry forward not just their memory, but their spirit. A hope for peace. A commitment to each other.
