Paths to Stillness

Paths to Stillness A service to cultivate mindfulness: bringing peace, calm, choice and awareness into your life through 1-1 sessions (women) and also beginner workshops (open).

I have been meditating for 17 years and have regularly completed courses in mindfulness training, including the MBSR (Mindfulness based stress reduction) course started by Jon Kabat-Zinn. I have recently taken a certified mindfulness facilitation training course with Mindfulness in NZ. I have been on monastic retreats and enjoy contemplation. I have a Bachelor Applied Social Sciences (Major in Soc

ial Work) and studied for two years towards a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Psychology and Feminist Studies). I have worked in the disability and service sector in various paid and voluntary ways. I am also an experienced childcare caregiver and community support worker for high and complex behaviors and needs.

We are part of the interconnected web of life. The judgement from our minds makes us think we are separate, but in fact we are whole. How is this? Who we truly are is loving awareness. 🌷

Compassion allows us to tend the world from the highest intention of our heart. When we meet suffering, often our first reaction is to close off or run, but when our love meets that suffering, we meet this world with compassionate response. This is how we tend the world from our heart, from loving awareness, which is our true nature.

The news and media outlets want us to believe we are powerless to fear. But when we turn off the station and put down our phones, we can see billions of acts of kindness being performed every single day. This is the truth of our humanity—our care, our basic goodness, our loving awareness. This is who we truly are.
