Big Week Recap at El Vardo
Last week was a big one in the studio, and we’re feeling incredibly grateful for the people we get to create with every day.
We had our good friend Ethan with us from Monday, working on some seriously large-scale pieces, sleeves, full legs, and backpieces for his regular clients. It’s always inspiring having him in the studio and seeing the dedication both him and his clients bring to these projects.
Tread kept busy with his regulars, including Logan who’s steadily building an epic traditional backpiece. He also worked on a few of our favourite ongoing clients, including tattoos for two talented Hawke’s Bay artists, always a pleasure having Tony and Hayden in the chair.
Braedan did what he does best, all styles, creating a mix of first tattoos, fine line, floral, and meaningful memorial pieces. Whether it’s a first tattoo or part of a bigger journey, every piece is treated with the same care and intention.
We were also lucky to have Heath Clifford back in the studio. We don’t get to see him often, but when we do, it’s always a great time and incredible work gets done. Highlights included two standout stomach pieces, progress on a full torso traditional project, and clients travelling in from Auckland and Canada.
Sam had a big week with travelling clients as well. From refining and filling existing work on a returning client from Australia, to completing a backpiece for a dedicated Auckland client, projects like these are always rewarding to see come together. And of course, always a pleasure having our regular Ben back in the studio.
Zac spent the week guesting with our good friends at Castle Tattoo in Palmerston North, creating some awesome pieces for their local clients. We love being able to support guest work like this , it gives clients the option to get tattooed closer to home, especially after long sessions. He wrapped up the week by heading back to the bay and continuing his backpiece with Ethan.
Rach had her teaching hat on, running training and refresher courses for cosmetic artists. It’s awesome to see her helping others grow, sharing new techniques, and supporting artists in taking their work to the next level.
Big week. Amazing clients.
We’re incredibly lucky to do what we do every day thank you to everyone who trusts us with their art, ideas and time.
Guest artists are always welcome at the studio.
