Hey everyone! Welcome to my page. :)
This page was originally made so I can help and support you on your Health and Fitness journey, what ever it may be. After two years having this page open, I have taken a different course. I have worked in the gym industry for many years now. I have specialised in Group Fitness, and been a New Zealand Group Fitness Master trainer. I have trained many clients, t

rained Group Fitness trainers from both New Zealand and Australia, presented in both New Zealand and Australia, owned my own gym and I am a HUGE fan of the health and fitness world. I was lucky enough to train under one of THE most amazing ladies in the Fitness Industry, Ruth Pirihi. Ruth pushed me beyond limits I never knew were there, and she believed in me when I didn’t. “Sink or swim” was her motto, and she always chucked me in the deep end, and lucky enough, I found myself swimming each time. I am grateful to her for helping shape me into the person I am today. Also Joanne Melbourne, another lady who is known in the corporate world of fitness who has always supported me and has rated the work I do. Thank you. I decided I wanted to offer more to my clients, as I believed they could benefit from so much more than just physical training, if only THEY knew what that was. For years I thought that to look after myself meant that I need to like what I see in the mirror, I thought to be happy started from the outside in. My son was born in 2002, a couple years later I began my journey in learning about waka, and the kaupapa and tikanga behind it. I surrounded myself with many amazing people who taught me so much about who I really was, one man in particular, who sadly passed away early 2016, which he never did know what a huge role he played in my journey moving forward. Thank you Potaka x

Then after my partner passed away, my babys father, in 2009, my journey took another turn in direction, and I learned so much more AGAIN about myself, and things became clear on changes I needed to make, and to do this, I had to start "From The Inside Out"
I set out to seek guidance and support from those on more of a spiritual path, and higher knowledge or experience in the path I wanted to take. Jackie Campbell taught me to embrace my spiritual intuition that I always knew was there, however, chose to ignore it. Julia Pura-Mackenzie who introduced me to finding my “WHY” and the law of attraction. And last, but not least Lynda Watson, who was an amazing support person with her amazing knowledge and understanding. All of these people taught me so much, and helped me find my true happiness and helped me to become the person I am today. Using what I had learned from my experiences and all these people, I have created some amazing programs. The results have been life changing for many...literally. No matter where you are in life right now, there is always a way. With the right guidance, focus and support, I can help you take control of your journey, “Helping to find the true YOU From The Inside Out”
Everyone has a dream, and the only person who can make it reality is YOU! "Make a wish, Take a chance, Make a Change, Opportunities are like bubbles, if we don't pop them, they will just float by"

We talk a lot about exhausted mums.

The mental load. The endless responsibilities. The pressure of trying to be everything to everyone.

And we should.

But what about the men?

The fathers carrying financial pressure.

The men trying to provide while quietly wondering if they're doing enough.

The men navigating relationship breakdowns, family challenges, work pressures, and expectations that tell them they need to stay strong no matter what.

Because men get overwhelmed too.

Men get exhausted too.

Men get lonely too.

The difference is, many men have been taught not to talk about it.

So instead of saying they're struggling, they become distant.

They bury themselves in work.

They withdraw.

They put on a brave face.

And often, we judge the behaviour instead of seeing what might be underneath it.

This Men's Mental Health Month, let's remember that support, compassion, and understanding aren't things that only women need.

The men in our lives need them too.

Not because they're weak.

Because they're human. 💙

June is Men's Mental Health Month. 💙

Over the years, I've watched men close to me struggle with their mental health. I've lost male friends and family members to su!c!de.
There is always someone facing battles most people know nothing about.

Those experiences have taught me to see things from a different perspective:

What we see on the surface is rarely the full story.

Sometimes the men who appear the strongest are carrying the heaviest burdens.

This month, (and moving forward) I encourage you to look beyond the labels, assumptions and judgements.

Check in on the men in your life, because everyone needs support sometimes. 💙

Thank you to the Bounce Academy team for having us along to your Sunday sessions yesterday.

Watching young people learn, grow in confidence, and simply enjoy being active is something I'll always support. 🫶🏽🏀

Being involved in the community is something that's always been important to me. We all have the ability to make a difference simply by showing up, supporting others, and giving our time. 🧡

You don't lose yourself overnight.

It happens gradually.

You become someone's mum.

Someone's partner.

Someone's employee.

Someone's support person.

Someone's safe place.

And little by little, you get so busy meeting everyone else's needs that you stop checking in with your own.

Not intentionally.

Just slowly.

One responsibility at a time.

One compromise at a time.

One "I'll do it later" at a time.

Until one day you realise you know exactly who everyone else needs you to be...

But you're no longer sure who you are.

That's why I believe self-care isn't just about rest.

It's about connection.

Connection to the parts of yourself that existed before the world started asking so much from you.

The parts that light you up.
The parts that bring you joy.
The parts that make you feel most like yourself.

Because when we stay connected to who we are, we show up better in every area of our lives.

Not because we have less responsibility.

But because we haven't abandoned ourselves in the process.

Something I've been reflecting on since getting home...

After my first weekend away from my daughter, a lot of people assumed I felt mum guilt.

The truth is, I didn't.🤷🏽‍♀️

Did I miss her?

Absolutely.

I thought about her all the time.
I wondered how she was doing.
I hoped she was ok.

But missing someone and feeling guilty are two very different emotions.

What surprised me wasn't that people thought I missed her.

It was how quickly people assumed guilt must come with it.

Almost as though enjoying time away, doing something you love, or reconnecting with yourself should automatically be followed by feeling bad about it.

I don't agree.

I can love my daughter and still enjoy time to myself.

I can miss her and still be fully present where I am.

I can be an amazing mother and still nurture the parts of me that exist outside motherhood.

To me, that's not selfish.

That's balance.

And balance is something I hope my daughter sees one day, not just hears me talk about.

Because I want her to know that loving others and staying connected to yourself don't have to compete. 🙏🏽

Being a good māmā doesn’t mean losing yourself.

This weekend will be my first dance competition since having my daughter… and also my first night away from her overnight. 🥹

There’s excitement, nerves and emotion all mixed together.

Being a parent changes you alot in many ways.
But I also think it’s important we don’t lose ourselves inside responsibility either.

Dance has always been something that challenges me, grounds me, pushes me and reconnects me to myself.

So this weekend feels bigger than just a competition.

It’s growth.
It’s trust.
It’s identity.
It’s allowing myself to still be a woman with passions outside of being a mama too.

I definitely believe both can coexist.

You can love your mini human with your all…
and still nurture the parts of yourself that matter too. 🙏🏽🫶🏽

Integrity is how you move when nobody benefits from watching.

It’s easy to appear supportive in public.
Easy to agree when it’s convenient.
Easy to say the “right” things when people are listening.

But integrity shows up in the quieter moments too.

How you speak about people when they aren’t in the room.
How honest you are when conversations become uncomfortable.
Whether your actions match your words consistently.

I think we live in a time where authenticity is talked about often… but real honesty is avoided.

People fear difficult conversations.
They avoid accountability.
They’d rather keep temporary comfort than risk discomfort through truth.

But growth, trust and healthy relationships are built through honesty and consistency, not performance.

I’ve always believed you can disagree with people, outgrow people, or have hard conversations with people… while still moving with respect and integrity.

I value and respect people who are genuine across all environments.
Not just when it benefits them socially.

Integrity may not always be loud or noticed immediately…
but it says everything about a person’s character.

Life’s heavy enough already.
Have the deep conversations… but also don't be afraid to laugh at yourself and have fun! 🙏🏽🫶🏽
